I thought that Samsung’s foldable water had died in the water. Due to the packed, I had almost nothing to be passionate with the Galaxy Z Philip 7 or Z Fold 7, because I assumed that they would be like that. Nevertheless, it has mostly done in the past few years – make some minor updates, add new features of AI, and trust you to buy them. Because there is no other competition. And, if this was true, I was happy to live with a razor ultra or pixel 9 pro folded in my pocket when I wanted a book -style setup.

Well, I was wrong. Samsung took a step back and surprised me where his foldable flop was flopped and decided to make some changes. I’ve just spent only time with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but finally I am sure that Samsung’s eyes can return to the foldable throne, and why.

Fold 7 shows that not every innovation is a good

    Ryan Hans / Android Authority

Given my usual preference for the foldable market flip aspect, it has been a while when I have put my hands on a galaxy z fold. This year, however, Fold 7 has landed in my lap, which has ever been more surprising to him in Salmer Aluminum Chassis. Perhaps the biggest surprise, at least to me, was that Samsung finally looked ready to move beyond the features that looked like bright ideas.

In particular, I can’t be happy that the under -display selfie camera has gone. Samsung gave his old 4MP sensor a good run, really happened, but between you and me, it always looks terrible. I always felt like I was using a selfie camera on a cheap Amazon Fire tab (Sorry, Amazon), which caused me to keep the phone open to a cartoon hole or primary camera on the core screen – a move that seemed as ridiculous as it seemed as ridiculous. However, you can’t discuss the power of a large 50 MP (now thanks to 200 MP) to highlight an excellent Android camera setup.

Samsung is not a stranger to big ideas, but sometimes the test and true methods do the best.

The second change that has made me noticed that Samsung has returned to the right track that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 finally feels like a normal phone. On the one hand, I understand why Samsung kept the proportion of the core screen aside on his previous model – it forced you to use the internal display more often. For me, though, it made the overall experience so restless that I would barely touch a fold. I could not just dance my fingers beautifully across the razor thin display.

This time, everything has changed. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a very high proportion of 21: 9 aspects, which feels more traditional and gives the keyboard something else to breathe. When closing down just 9 mm with thicknesses, I don’t think there is a strange bar in my pocket as a little thick Galaxy S 25 ultra.

Basically, Samsung has finally given some features to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that I liked more about its closest rivals – Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and One Plus Open. In this process, some steps have been taken to reduce its flagship. There is a slight hiccup for this resemblance, though: this pen is a past. Part of pressing its supercharged foldable means eliminating the digitiser layer, which means that your beloved styls are now a little more longer than an extra long way to raise your ears.

Philip 7 proves that sometimes other brands of innovations improve

On the Galaxy Z Philip 7, I’m going to praise Samsung’s top and razors to steal the core screen from Motorola. It is almost three years late, but converting 3.4 inch 60Hz Hartz from the emulated panel to 4.1 inches 120 Herz panel makes the new back tag to its price tag. This Galaxy Z Philip does not work differently from the 6 display, which still requires good lock for most apps, but the upgraded appearance goes far ahead.

I am also happy to see that Samsung kept his flagship flip phone a little through a slightly scash and continuous action, another change that should make it more comfortable. The new model is a seam tall (approximately a mm) and the touch wide (close to 5 mm), but now the extended chassis now has a large 6.9 -inch foldableable display, which has once again brought a slight closer to the razor ultra, which otherwise poses a permanent place in my pocket. By the way, I will feel Roger’s round edges as soon as I get in my pocket, but I’m glad Samsung is finally looking for a competition.

He said, I am less appreciating the Galaxy Z Philip 7. In fact, there is a lot that Samsung can learn from its nearest US -based competitor. For starters, Motorola’s core screen is still bright in 3,000 nets, which is smooth with 165Hz refresh rate, and is very easy to use without needing good lock. I can easily load an app and open it wherever needed. Mix with 68W wired charging in 4,700mAh battery, and refuses to move beyond 25W from Samsung’s anti -Samsung and 4,300mAh cell feels very pedestrian.

But I am here to celebrate Samsung’s victory, so keep going.

In both cases, I am glad that Samsung is learning

C Scott Brown / Android Authority

The biggest and best thing that Samsung has done for his Galaxy Z series is easy: it’s changed. Yes, I know that Samsung may sit on his honor and can say that it contains more market share than Pixel 9 Pro Folds, and it may indicate that it makes a motorLau more than it offers more software updates, but eventually it is not doing it. After the reviewer says the reviewer is listening to, “This phone feels very tight and painful,” or “I’m not sure why the Flex window looks like this,” and to give proper answer.

When I move one step back, I realize that Samsung can at least tease some of these upgrades for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. I don’t like the Galaxy S25 Edge-not in fact-but the latest fold is mostly choosing the place where the ultra-tone is left. It is similar, thin bottom frame, almost similar multi -layer camera, and buttons that carry almost the whole width of the chassis, but everything begins to combine in a more compatible manner.

I am not yet convinced that someone should buy the edge, but may start looking at other Samsung launches for its indicators that can come after. The next ultra can be pulled from the fold, or the next edge can be pulled, or I can go wrong on all count. It doesn’t matter what it has come out of, I’m glad Samsung has cared for me again.
