Thirteen years ago, the rover of curiosity, especially inside the Galor Corr, landed on Mars. It was actually sent to the Red Planet for a two -year mission, but it was extended indefinitely in its work in just a few months. There are numerous goals for Rover, most of which are aimed at helping scientists decide whether Mars could ever support life in the past. And while it is still doing a lot of operational and science, NASA had to make adjustments and give it new abilities to ensure that it can continue.

In a new post celebrating the 13th anniversary of Rover’s landing, NASA’s Jet Propolas Laboratory has detailed the latest works to implement the curiosity team. To start, the team manages Rover’s daily electricity budget with great care to ensure that it can perform its work and run longer. See, curiosity uses a power system called multi -mission radiosocype thermo electric generator (MMRTG), which relies on consuming plutonium knives to generate energy. As the plutonium is eliminated over time, the system takes longer and more time to recharge the rover battery.

That is why the team now cautions in every device that pulls the batteries. They stabilize curiosity tasks to shorten the time that rover is active to reduce the energy used. For example, the ground team is curious to talk to a orbit when you run or run your robotic arm instead of doing one thing at a time. If Rover eliminates his tasks quickly, he can sleep quickly and recharge for the next day, about which JPL says that MMRTG makes the life of TG.

Over the past years, NASA has also developed updates to change that Rover’s robotic arm drill collects samples and improves its driving capabilities. The JPL also created an algorithm to reduce the wear on Rover’s wheel, so that they could last long.

Ever since the curiosity landed on Mars, it provided us with numerous discoveries and new information. It discovered the martin environment and organic molecules in the soil, which found the “shocking high” surface of the methane that is usually created by life as we know, and has found evidence of ancient megaphloids on the red planet. And as you know, water can indicate the presence of life.
