- The Galaxy S20 Ultra has received a security update, a few months after Samsung received formal support for the device.
- This refreshment only applies to the Verizon model for now.
- Samsung’s 2020 flagship launched with four major OS upgrades and five -year security updates promise.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra was released as the company’s first ultra phone in 2020. Earlier this year, the phone was formally unmarked, but Samsung recently released another update.
Verizon (via Semigoro) Galaxy S20 has pushed forward a refreshment for ultra. The update is the version number TP1A.220624.014.g98usqsdhyg2 and brings security patch of July 2025. This is not clearly a huge refreshment or release of OS, but it should give S20 ultra -owners some comfort.
It is unclear/when this update will be available for other Galaxy S20 ultra variations. However, I am guessing that Samsung will not restrict this release to Verizon. So in the coming days, our fingers have been crossed for widespread release.

This unexpected release was made months after Samsung received official support for the Galaxy S20 series. The phones started with the promise of four major OS upgrades and a five -year security patch, which was an impressive policy for the time. In fact, you just have to see the Galaxy S20 Ultra colleagues (such as, OnePlus 8 Pro, Google Pixel 5) to realize that the promises of the official update are at the edge of the company.
If you plan to use the phone for a while, you should probably change your Galaxy S20 ultra -battery. Otherwise, if you want to upgrade, there is no shortage of great Android phones in the market.
