Hackers, and especially Renasmare groups are on a riot this year to target and attack healthcare organizations. Now, one of the largest provider of dialysis in the United States, Davita, has suffered a large number of health care data.
As compared by the comparison tech, the kidney dialysis company Davita revealed that it suffered data violations earlier this year when the hackers had unauthorized access to the server, mainly located in its laboratories.
When Davita became aware of the security incident in mid -April, hackers behind the attack first reached their system on March 24. In the meantime, they stole all kinds of sensitive personal, financial and medical data.

Davita did not come out and said which hackers were responsible, but after publicizing the news of the violation, the Interack Rensamware gang took the attack, and claimed that it was able to steal 1.5TB data, which included 683,104 files and 75,836 files.

Exposed personal and medical information
Now that the dust has been fixed and Davita has fully investigated the security incident, the company has begun sending a notification letter to the victims.
According to Davita’s latest notice (PDF), the following patients’ data was stolen in violation.
- Name
- Address
- Dates of birth
- Social Security Numbers
- Health insurance information
- Medical information (conditions, treatment and test results)
- Tax ID number
- Photos of checks given to the company
It is worth noting that the types of stolen data are different for all affected people. Although some people may have stolen all the aforementioned figures in violation, this may not happen for all.

If you or someone in your home gets dialysis treatment in the Davita, it is likely that you may receive a data violation notification letter in the mail or someone is going to you.
