- One of the widgets offered by the Google app is a shortcut to access your home routine.
- In the latest Google app beta, the routine widget is no longer available.
- This damage reaches the right in the middle of the growing age of Google home.
If you are particularly interested in collecting impressive smart home setup, Google Home routines are probably your best friends. Although it may take a minute to configure them, especially if they contain dozens of devices (such as all your lights), once set up routines make it a picture to trigger complex actions with just one command.
So far, Google has offered home users an easy shortcut to control all these routines in the form of desktop widgets. Although it does not allow you to activate the routine directly from your home screen, it offers a sharp way to jump.

Although it may definitely be more of a whole feature, it was still a good option, which is why we are a little worried about seeing Google taking it. Given the Google app’s latest beta release for Android, we saw where the app was offering four widgets and a shortcut, the count now has come up to three – and this is the routine widget that does not deduct.
In fact, losing it will not end the world, but more than anything, we will probably be disappointed that it looks like removal in the context of the frustrations around Google Home. It does not really feel that with the direct access to our most users, we have to try so much to give us a new and improved routine, but instead of bothering to do so, Google is just abandoning all this.
It is possible that Google really has a new version of the tool that is waiting on the wings – but then why not be compatible with retiring its first form? We also hope that this is just a kind of beta surveillance that cannot appear in the final of this construction, public release. Because when we look at this change right now, it really feels just like home and its associations are not a great priority.
