Pocket S2 is the most powerful Android gaming handheld that you can buy, with a large battery to boot. If you can afford it, only a small stick and non -OLED screen prevents it from achieving absolute perfection.

When it comes to premium Android gaming handhelds, the constitution is practically the market. Its devices are recognized as compared to the choice of retroid and Inbank, but they offer premium devices that eliminate performance.

So when it was announced that the Pocket S2 would be one of the first waves to get the G -series chips based on the Qualcomm’s new handheld, I immediately. Interesting Could this be the first of the new generation of ultra -powerful Android gaming handhelds?

After a week’s test, I am sure the answer is yes. Does it mean that you really should buy it? It is still ready for discussion.

    Sleek and thin

Before I go on a chip seat, let’s talk about the design of Iano Pocket S2. At first glance, all glasses in front and flat form factor look like a frightening like a phone, which doesn’t look like good news for aerganomix.

But I am glad to say that it really looks great in holding. The aluminum frame is completely curved and smooth, the plastic back offers a little extra grip for your fingers. It uses the same flat design philosophy such as Nintendo Switch, but with more premium blood.

The other thing that makes it relieved to maintain it is the decorated triggers. Like the Nintendo Switch, they also flare from behind, and provide a small edge to relax their fingers. They are far more obvious than the motivations in my OG switch, and self -stimulation has a good, great structure.

The pocket is more comfortable than the S2 switch, which makes the premium sense.

Unlike the switch, the rest of the controls are also very good. The buttons offered a satisfactory quantity of resistance, though I found them a little bit. The sticks are also a small side and if you are going to play FPS games, I will recommend picking up large stick hats or taking full place of sticks. That pop, so it’s a sharp fine.

On the one hand, they are high -end TMR electromagnetic sticks. This technology is primarily the successor of the hallway sticks, which provides many benefits but with better precision, resolution and battery performance. I am sure it will never go as bad as my switch sticks, even after taking them once.

On the other hand, the DPP is perfect. It is absolute pleasure to use, and if you swing for pocket S2 Pro, it comes with a second, shield style alternative. There is a small device to extract the DPPPP to install the other, and it is as easy as changing the keys on the mechanical keyboard. It is completely unnecessary and no one else does, but it makes it happy.

Talking about accelerating happiness, Pocket S2 indicates the return of the favorite feature of the fans: a headphone jack. I am glad that Iano decided to listen to the fans, because gaming handhelds don’t make much sense to leave them. On the phone you can argue that it helps with water resistance, but I am not taking pocket S2 anywhere near the pool, no matter how hot this summer is.

    Nick Fernandez / Android Authority

My only complaint, in addition to the small sticks, is the screen. It is a beautiful, 6.3 -inch 1440p IPS display that has great color and brightness, but at this price, it seems that it should be high. Don’t misunderstand me, I like gaming on this screen, but OLED should be the standard here. Or minimal, 120 Herz refresh rate to enable the black frame entry on retro titles. It is available at cheap devices such as Odin 2 portal or even in the inbrane RG477M.

Screen is the only ingredient that is not the top -speaking.

Nevertheless, the whole package looks and feels. It is also relatively light -light light, which weighs 440 grams. It is very similar to Odin 2 portal (430 grams) and is significantly lower than something like steam deck OLED, weighing 640 grams.

Obviously, the steam deck is a different section of the device, but one of the reasons is that I am comparing them, and the reason is that Pocket S2 packs more power than any Android handheld released so far.

    Powerless power

    Nick Fernandez / Android Authority

I run Pocket S2 through a benchmark through our quality of quality, and he confirmed that I already knew: This is an animal. Let’s compare the score to other famous handhelds, including Constitutional GB Ekka (Snapdragon G3 General 2), Even Odin 2 Portal (Snapdragon 8 General 2), Vinaksigar Sugar 1 (Snapdragon G3 Jin 3), and Retrode Pocket 2 (Asnip Dragon 865).

In terms of multi -core CPU performance, we are looking for an increase of more than 25 % compared to the previous leader, Ain Odin 2 portal. Even it improves sugar 1, which has the same chip set. The device has two screens and has less ideal cooling setup, but it can also run for years with Ayyano’s Android handhelds for years.

    Nick Fernandez / Android Authority

Pushing the GPU’s performance, we see even more difficult consequences. Snapdragon G3 General 3 is primarily gaming -based Snapdragon 8 General 3, so it is understood that it improves the competition. Nevertheless, I was not expecting the Delta so big. He scored more than 40 % higher than the pocket ACE, and Odin 2 portal more than 40 %. It is not necessary to say that the old chip set of retrude pocket flip 2 is completely out -class.

It is not easy to see in the graph, but the G3 General 3 on the pocket S2 also benefited from permanent performance. These test stability LIVICES RAT devices, essentially compare the best and worst results after 20 runs, and G3 General 3 scored about 91 91 %. It is more than 85 % on its predecessor, but still less than 99 % of the main line chips.

The temperature was also under control, only peak at 42 degrees Celsius. Compared to 46 degrees on the pockets, this is noteworthy. These temperatures are also focused between the device, so I have never felt heat on my hands while holding it.

In other words, this is a new most powerful Android gaming hand hand in the market while looking at raw data. But how does it perform in Android Games and Emulators? Spilller: too good.

    Nick Fernandez / Android Authority

This thing literally ran everything I could throw on it. Obviously the retro games play like a dream, even with very heavy shaders. It is an incredible experience to revisit some of my favorite retro titles with a CRT-Royoyale shader, even with black bars on the sides. The PS2 went to 3x resolution without breaking the sweat with a wide screen hex.

When it comes to more modern things, it still ends. I was really surprised at how well the Nintendo Switch Emotion did a good job on this device. Almost every game was worth the game, including some titles that do not work on the previous generation of powerful handhelds. This is still not perfect and the game still plays on the original hardware, but this is the first time I have no objection to playing through the entire switch game on the non -switch hardware.

    Nick Fernandez / Android Authority

This type of emulators, it, all really comes to drivers. When Snapdragon G3 General 2 debuted on Pocket Evo and DMG, it was a major problem, even Android Games. Now, this is a non -problem tomorrow. You can counter other devices in settings, but I suspect you will ever need.

Iano announced that he was working with Kulkam on the drivers starting with this release, and that it really appears here. The company sent test devices (including pocket S2) to the developers behind the Nintendo Switch Emulator Eden, which can explain why it works so well outside the box.

Pocket S2 is the most powerful Android handheld in the market.

I will also note that this chip set is great for game streaming, which supports Wi -Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. However, the small sticks on the pocket S2 made it a bit anxious to play modern PC games, so I don’t necessarily recommend it. There are cheap devices with large sticks that they also perform.

Another larger sale point for Pocket S2 is battery life. The standard model comes with a large battery of 8,000 mAh, while the pro model has up to 10,000 mAh. It was enough for more than five hours of severe gaming, or more than a dozen in light retro titles.

Charging is also fast, which jumps from 20 % to 90 % in about 75 minutes. I have 60W maximum charging speeds for the Pro model, however, the standard is maximum at 40W. Nevertheless, you will not need to spend much time with the charger with Pocket S2.

Iano GBS 2 Pro Review: Do you buy it?

    Nick Fernandez / Android Authority

    Iano Pocket S2:

    • 8/128GB: $ 499 (Early Bird 9 439)
    • 12/256GB: 9 559 ($ 499 Bird)

    Constitutional Pocket S2 Pro:

    • 16/512 GB: $ 619 ($ 559 Bird)
    • 16 GB/1 TB: $ 719 ($ 659 Early Bird)

While I was very impressed with my testing period with this device, last week’s events have made it difficult to suggest. Don’t think me wrong, this is a terrific device and if you decide to buy it, you will probably love it, but the premium price tag is tough for the stomach, especially when Iano itself is releasing forced alternatives.

The standard version of Iano Pocket S2 comes with 8-12GB of RAM and 128-256GB internal storage. The Pro Model collided with 16GB RAM and 512GB-1tb storage in addition to a large battery and a worthy exchange de-PAD. Personally, I think the lowest level of the Pro model is the best price, as you will be able to play everything at the highest standard. He said, during the crowded funding campaign, you will run $ 9 559 and $ 619 retail. In terms of pricing, it is well in the Windows Handheld area.

The problem is that unless you need more electricity, there are many devices that have very low cost or more interesting designs. Just this week, Iano announced a dual -screen pocket DS, which has the previous G3 General 2 but has been added to 7 inches 165 Hz O LED panel and a 5 -inch LCD panel. This makes it a very unique handheld, and although full prices have not been revealed, we already know that this pocket will be cheaper than 2s.

Unless you want the maximum power, there are also forced alternatives from Iano.

It also announced a sub -brand called Konkar, and its first device, pocket fit, looks like a solid alternative to pocket S2. It has a 6 inches 144hz LCD display, and it runs like a pocket S2 through the same G3 General 3. This means that you can achieve the same incredible performance that will certainly be less than $ 100, though there will be other trading offices in construction standards.

None of these products have been launched yet, so you will not be able to hand over them until autumn or winter. We do not have all the details yet, so it may be the bottom direction, which looks more attractive to the Pocket S2 in the Indian light.

Out of Iano’s offerings, you have found reliable devices such as Ian Odin 2 Portal (9 329 on the Manufacturer site). You are doing the additional power of the new chip set for 120 Hz Emounted Display at 1080p instead of 1440p. This device has been available for more than six months, so you can find it from Pocket S2 to $ 200 less.

That said, if you want strength, Iano Pocket S2 is the most powerful Android gaming handheld you can now get. This device is at the absolute blood flow of performance, and if you can’t wait to catch other devices, your best condition is to buy it before the crowded funding campaign is over in mid -August.
