Authentic apps are a great way to help keep your accounts secure, but some of them come with disturbing trade. These ads can make it difficult to convert to missing features, or another platform. Proton is trying to clean all of them through its own new 2 FA app, called the Proton Authentic.
The app has just launched on Android, iOS, Windows, Macos and Linux, and it brings most of the equipment you expect, such as 2 -FA codes, offline support, and your ability to protect your token from pin or biometrics. But there is something else going on in the background.
Proton says you can harmonize your 2 FA codes with the end of the end in the end, or keep everything local. Importing existing codes from other apps is easy, and unlike some rivals, you can recover them later. If you’ve ever tried to change 2 FA apps and find yourself doing everything by hand, you can only save headaches.
The app works whether you use the proton account or not, though you will need one if you want to sync with the devices. Already no person will need to use the proton pass, as it has 2 FAs. But if you like to keep your codes separate, it gives you a more secure option.
Like the rest of the proton’s tools, authentic is also free to use and use. It is not doing a lot of new, but it fixes a group of common pain spots in a beautiful clean package.
