Nintendo says the original switch is increasing the hardware lineup and select accessories prices. The company did not provide details about how much the price increases or will give a reason why it is “based on market terms”, which is probably a reference to the revenue imposed by President Donald Trump.
The company said in a post on Friday that the switch OLED, Nintendo Switch, Switch Light and some accessories would jump in price on Sunday, August 3. Nintendo says it will not increase the price of recently released switch 2, but it has mentioned that “adjustment of prices may be necessary in the future.”
Other non -switch accessories will also see the price increase. This includes some switch 2 accessories, amibo and Nintendo Alarm. Nintendo’s announcement did not provide details about these changes, but retailers adjust their prices on Friday morning.
