I received my invitation to join Spatifs in November 2008 – yes, at that time, you couldn’t sign up for yourself. Another user first had to invite you with a personal link. I created an account, used my free trial, and finally accessed the world’s largest music streaming platform. For the first few years, though, I continued to switch between spataf and my personal music collection, until the spot won, canceled and resumed my purchase, and it ended my local music library game.
Since then, I have tried to take the most of my subscription. If I am paying 17 euros or more for the Spotif pair (despite access to YouTube music with your YouTube premium subscription), I have to make sure that I am getting my money. So I have collected a list of tricks and indicators that improve my spots experience. I will share the first major five with you here, but there are more unclear tricks in another article.
Avoid what you don’t want to hear on the spotifies
The best thing about Spatif is that its recommendation is algorithm. The worst part is also recommended algorithm. There are songs I don’t want to hear, artists don’t like me, and random music that I don’t enjoy. Fortunately, Spatif has settings to avoid most of them. What can you do here
Hide a song in the playlist
Rita El Khuri / Android Authority
When you play a playlist’s songs, you didn’t make yourself (either by another user or an automatic playlist like a discourse week or release radar), you can hide songs you don’t want to listen in this playlist. Just tap on three dots ⋮ ⋮ Forward and select a song Hide in this playlist. If I really don’t want to hear this song again, I can also choose Do not recommend this song anywhere for 30 daysWhich will also hide it in other playlists.
Completely block an artist
Rita El Khuri / Android Authority
If there is a special artist who likes to suggest Spatifs because you have heard one of his songs a million years ago and the algorithm somehow thinks you love them, or because they are similar to many artists you enjoy on paper but they can’t really hit your sweet place. Go to the artist page, tap three dots ⋮ ⋮ Next to the follow -up button, and select Don’t play this artist. This will prevent any of their music from appearing in recommendations and radio stations, and will force Spatifs to leave them in any pre -existing playlist.
On or off Smart Shuffle
Smart Shuffle OnPlaylist + suggested songs under smart shuffleEnable/Disable Smart Shuffle
There are times when I am open to hear what Spatif’s algorithm recommends and times when I just want to play the songs I have prepared. An easy way to do quickly is to repeatedly tap the shuffle button until it turns into a stormy shuffle icon, which is Smart shuffle. At the same time, the spataf will fill the current row with the same songs that I think I enjoy, and when I turn into a regular change, it only plays the role of the current playlist or artist. If you dislike Smart Shuffle and never want the option to display the option, you can close it under off -off Settings and Privacy> Playback> Add Smart Shuffle to Sports Methods.
Listen without interrupting your recommendations
Unlike the first point, there are also times when I want to hear random things on spots without their algorithms and recommendations. Like this week, when I raised a terrible dog and played the dog music playlists comfortably, it would calm down, but Spatif also suggested dog music for me for the coming months. Or that once I heard a nickelback song and saw his music popup in all my playlists. Fortunately, I learned my lesson and started using the following two tricks to avoid it.
Delete any playlist from your taste profile
Rita El Khuri / Android Authority
If there is a special playlist (or multiple playlists) that you play for a particular reason, such as sleeping or calm your pet, you can force the spot to ignore it. Go to the playlist, tap ⋮ ⋮ Button, and select Delete from your taste profile. This will be forced to ignore your love for this playlist and all its songs, even though how many times you play, thus will not affect your recommendations in the future.
Use a private session
Rita El Khuri / Android Authority
If you suddenly want Liston by the pop music of the 90s, and you will know that this is a time thing that should not affect your cold R&B / LOF / rock metal music profile, you can go to a private listener session. Barley Settings and Privacy> Privacy and Social> On Private meeting The mood lasts for six hours and lets you hear your followers or your spat algorithm… once more. If you ask me, there is no criminal joy in music. You should embrace the lyrics of your choice, but not everyone is free like me.
Use gestures to make things faster
Like many other apps on Android, Spatifs have some invisible and sometimes unknown indicators that make my life easier when I am using it. Once you know this, don’t go back to the tapping buttons, trust me.
Swipe right to add songs to your row
Rita El Khuri / Android Authority
My most used indication is to swipe left to right on any song so that it can be added to the current game line. It beats to tap several specific buttons for the same work. I use it a lot when Spatif plays the song of an artist I don’t know about but I like: I go to their page and quickly add many of their songs to the queue to find out if they are able to follow.
Swipe to go to a mini -player or to return
The second indication is that the previous song is to swipe left and right on a mini player to run or go to the next song. It is faster to do at the bottom of the screen than to open the full player to do the same thing, especially if I’m listening to the app while browsing.
Swipe to find songs in the playlist
And my third favorite indicator is to swipe to display any playlist Find in the playlist Box to find a song or artist in this playlist. When I don’t want to scroll to find a song, it helps a lot in super big playlists.
Get access to your favorite quickly
The use of spots sometimes feels like a constant struggle against the algorithm. No, I don’t know what those recommendations are doing in the upper part of my home screen, nor have my playlists been arranged like this. Why can’t I get what I want to hear faster? Well, there are three ways to accelerate access to the latest musical entertainment.
Pin music in your library
Pin albumPin artistPin playlistMy playlists or playlist folders
The easiest way is to make a favorite in the upper part of the library. The bus go Your library Tab, tap and place on any artist, album, or playlist you want to see first, and select Pin artistFor, for, for,. Pin albumOr Pin playlist. This allows it to be in the upper part of your library, regardless of which order you use.
Make Android Home screen shortcut
My other favorite trick is to add shortcut to artists, playlists, or albums on my Android phone home screen. Spotifs offered the option of what they were listening to in the menu of the options, but now it hides it a bit. You first have to go to the artist, album, or playlist for which you want to make a shortcut, and then tap to play anything – this is an important step. Then go to your home screen, tap and hold the spatheph icon, and you will see something new in search of the music you have now played. This is an app shortcut on Android, and you can drag it to make a standstone shortcut on your home screen. As many times you can repeat your custom and then move these shortcuts anywhere or place them in a folder.
Library organization Spatifs with folders
Rita El Khuri / Android Authority
The last trick includes the use of a Spatif Web or Desktop app to create a playlist and album folder. This is not possible on the mobile app, but on the big screen, you can add New Playlist Folder Arrange some playlists and albums in your library and inside. Even you can put a folder into another, making sub -folders. All your organization takes to the mobile app, so once you do it on the desktop, you can enjoy a new order on your phone.
Rita El Khuri / Android Authority
If you store a million playlists like me, if you want to group your favorite albums together, or if you want to organize playlists, Spataf makes your makes, then this is a great way to add some order to the madness. For example, I use it for my top songs for the year by year, as well as the artist and gender mixtures for me, to avoid the crowds in my main library.
Listen with others
Although I enjoy listening to music in my bubble, I sometimes like to share experience with others. Spotif has two clear ways to let me share their love with music with their husbands and friends.
Create a blending playlist with another user
Start a blending playlistInvite friendsShare the invitation linkThe blended playlist created
My husband and my husband enjoy very similar music, but there are still different artists who hear a lot to everyone. Combining our taste profiles makes a playlist that we can both enjoy, while also introducing me to the songs he is listening to, and on the contrary. To do this, just tap Create Button> Blend > Invite And send the link to your partner or friends. When they join, Spatifs will create a new playlist and add it to their library. It will update it daily.
Start jam when you’re listening to other people
Start JamInvite others to join your jamJam started, multiple users are under controlIncluded songs in a row by other listeners
And finally, the last trick is to use other spots directly to control the music with users. When I’m running music on my Google nest speaker or my Samsung Sound Bar, I go and start jam Created> jam And let your husband scan to join the code. It also shows the current row on his phone, so that he can control the playback, leave the songs or add his songs to the queue again. If you often have people finished or you like to listen to music with your friends, and you are near Bluetooth or the same Wi -Fi network, it is a great trick to allow everyone to contribute to their songs.
And this is the place where I will stop today with my first and most important spots. I will soon share more unclear people in another article, but in the meantime, if you have other tricks, if people should know, please share them in comments.
