About five weeks away with the unveiling of the iPhone 17 series, Lexter (in conjunction with a term) says one of his sources has sent him photos of the iPhone 17 Pro battery in the case of stainless steel. Two different versions of the battery case came out. One for the US market and the other for the Chinese market. The US version has a small “L-Shaped” cut out compared to the Chinese variety of stainless steel battery case sugar variety.
The Chinese version of the steel battery case is also different from the US version due to the ability to host the SIM tray. Starting with the iPhone 14 series in 2022, the new model iPhone units sold in the United States are not equipped with the physical SIM tray. The US version of the stainless steel battery case is also wider.

Majin Boo noted how the battery case comes with Welded Edge in both variations, and the Apple will use new adhesive to simplify the battery space. “Lexter” also believes that the case of steel indicates that the new IPhone 17 Thermal management will have a better grip on the rapid charge of pro models. Apple talks about rapidly charging, especially in the firing of Chinese firms such as Xiaomi, Vivo, and some of the inflammatory charging speeds available on some phones manufactured by Relm.

Some fastest charging phones can completely fill the battery in tens of minutes. Apple, worried about the overall effect of rapid charging on the longevity of the battery, and the amount of heat generating the charging speed, is very conservative when it comes to rapid charging. In addition to better work to handle heat consumption, stainless steel battery cases are more durable and less punctured than previously used “soft packs”. The latter kept the battery cells made of a thin, flexible foil -like substance and they are suffering from accidental punctures, making it difficult to replace the phone’s battery. Thus, battery change should be easier in new stainless steel cases.
The weight of the “soft pack” is less than the stainless steel battery cases, and is less space. But stainless steel cases are not only more durable, but they also do a better job of eliminating heat. Apple first tested stainless steel battery case with last year’s iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro Max came with a “soft pack” battery case. According to Majan Boo, in addition to IPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, we can see the Stainless Steel Battery case used on the Ultra Salem iPhone 17 air.
