The volume of this high search has been permanent for more than a year, and Jordi Rabbas, the head of the Microsoft, has revealed on the X this week that its desktop search market share has also been affected. According to Komskore, Bang now accounts for 29 % of the US search share, while Google for 60 %. This has increased by 2.1 percent since the beginning of the Beng Chat in February 2023.
The State Counter says that the Beng has increased its worldwide search share by 11.6 %, which is an increase of 3.4 % point two years ago. At the same time, both Kamskar and the State Counter report that Google’s search share has decreased. Google has lost 6.1 percent points worldwide, and in the United States it has lost 1.2 percentage points.
It may look like small shifts, but they can cost billions, as Microsoft becomes a $ 4 trillion dollar company. Microsoft’s CVP of Finance Philip Okandan said during the launch of the Bang Chat two years ago, “To get every 1 point in the search advertising market, this is a chance to income $ 2 billion for our advertising business.”
When you look at the overall search market share – which includes desktops, mobiles, and tablet devices – Bang is not taking so much part from Google. The State Counter notes that Bang is only 4 % in all platforms, compared to about 90 90 % of Google’s shares. This may mean that Microsoft’s plans are having a major impact on the search engine share in comparison to its mobile efforts to persuade people to use Bang and Edge on Windows.
Microsoft searching and advertising business is still smaller than Google, but it has definitely made Google a dance and responded with its new AI review and dedicated AI mode in search. The Bang is slowly increasing and takes away the share of Google and other rivals in the same way as Microsoft planned. “This is now the fourth consecutive year in which Bang and Edge shared the market,” says Rabbas. “We are also growing thanks for giving strength to web grounding for third -party chat boats, including Chat GPT and Meta AI.”
Microsoft has now rejected most of its AI’s efforts around Cooplot instead of Bang Search, yet its search engine has quickly killed 100 million active users quickly after the start of its AI -powered Beng Chat feature.
