- Google Chrome on Android You will need biometric verification before autofling the passwords, which will include a very essential security layer.
- This feature closes a flaw, as the existing biometric protection for the auto in Google Password Manager is currently only applied to apps, not a browser.
- A new discovered sequence clearly states that this protection is “coming to Chrome soon”, eventually prevents the password auto without user verification.
Inserting passwords manually is a pain, which is why many people use bundle automo services with password managers for time saving. Better security L you, you will need biometric verification before autofling passwords. This prevents thieves who prevent your phone from signing into accounts that are not already logged.
If you use Google Password Manager, you may have noticed “Verify with biometrics before filling passwords“Under the option Settings> Google> Google> Auto Fell with preferences. As its name appears, this sequence prevents the Google Password Manager from auto -filing password unless you confirm your identity with your face or fingerprint. Unfortunately, this protection only applies to apps and does not work in web browsers like Google Chrome, though Chrome uses the same autofel service as default.

Fortunately, Google is eventually addressing this long -standing surveillance. Telegram user Mika told us that “Verify with biometrics before filling passwords” option disappeared from their autofel with Google’s preferences. Instead, now they are looking for a new one.Confirm that you have to auto -favo password“Options under the Google Password Manager’s main settings page. Although the toggle has been transferred and renamed, it provides the same protection. However, its new detail has a promising detail:
“Use your fingerprint, face or other screen lock when using additional protection, when you use auto -fell (coming soon in Chrome).”
My fellow Hudley Simon also has this new toggle, so he shared the following screenshot with me:

This detail confirms that Chrome will soon need automate passwords to your fingerprint, face, or screen lock. Although it is unclear whether this only setting will apply to the chrome or if the browser gets its toggle, this is a very important improvement of security.
In October, we have reported that Google Chrome Password will stop auto -fells if your phone is stolen. This protection develops the Android identification check feature, which forcing biometric verification if your phone is at an unreliable location. Although Google still has to connect the identification check in Chrome, the new toggle we have seen enables a wider protection that applies to your phone’s location.
