In the years of my heart attack at the age of 33, technology has been an important part of my recovery. I have invested in a glucose monitor to track my diabetes, six leaders’ personal EKG machine, which is smaller than a credit card, blood pressure machine, and a scale that can also record EKG every morning.

Along with these dedicated devices, I also tried to wear clothing, including many excellent fitness trackers. Apple Watch became an important part of my reservoir, but likewise Oriya 3 (after the Galaxy Ring) and Pixel Watch 3, despite access to data, most of which are most valuable when the first time goes on cardiac issues, I realized that something was still missing.

Throughout this period, I am also waiting for a wearer or a health company to connect these devices, and to solve an important problem – and many others.

During the galaxy earlier this month, Samsung announced several new products as well as the acquisition of Zail Health, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. In the subsequent sessions, the company’s integrated health vision began to process, and it is a huge step towards the future that we deserve.

Why Samsung’s vision here is exactly what I am waiting for.

How technology helped me recover from a heart attack

My heart attack was brought through a mixture of bad choices and a genetic pond in my life that left my brother, three cousins, and four maternal uncle with different degrees of heart disease. It was somewhat indispensable that I had heart problems, but five years later, it allowed me to see and appreciate the equipment capable of wearing from a new perspective.

The heart attack needs to undergo cardiac rehabilitation, and there my physician recommends over color for the Apple Watch as well as the Apple Watch returning to my wrist, as well as his big suit health data. Although an unofficial recommendation – ie, not a device that is officially approved or provided through my health network or insurance – this change proved to be. Particularly the data on Oriya Ring 3 were more useful than Apple Watch, though the recent version of the Watch OS has overcome this deficit on the latter.

Beyond cardiac rehabilitation, I also had to manage a new diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, which is more life -threatening long -term than my heart problems. Technology has also proved to be a blessing here, a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) has been permanently in my life for the past four years. Among CGMs, various dedicated machines, and a new wearing device every few weeks, I had many apps and information to deliver my doctor at the beginning of each tour.

This is a common occurrence in health care. Apple has already solved a part of the problem, but the theory of Samsung’s new health ecosystem can be well established to solve the other.

Apple Watch what can be done right now

Looking at my recovery, I faced two major problems, and there was only one solution. In order to understand the vision of Samsung, it is very important to understand both of them, which can solve the problem that is yet to be resolved.

When you face medical matters to correct the quantity and try to solve them, they have to collect and secure reliable data. Many excellent smart watches and fitness trackers are directly connected with Apple Health, which Tim Cook has termed as the biggest impact on Apple’s humanity. Considering how fragile it has been for me, I have to agree.

Apple Health and Apple Watch indicate the key issue of storing all your medical data in a place in one place. First, with hundreds of millions of patients and providers, with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, integration with Epic Systems Machart.

Apple Health automatically draws your latest medical information directly to your iPhone and/or Apple Watch. It may feel like a minor feature, but after a heart attack, it is especially useful. My doctors warned me that there were several possible interactions between these medicines that I was suggested and some of the emergency care was taken. On several tours of ER and in hospitals I had not seen before – it included an opportunity when I was partially irresponsible.

It is not just about medical record data, but also about time as well as the trends offered in the data. For the first few months of my recovery, my doctor and my doctor could not identify the main reason for excessive fatigue, but data from both Apple Watch and Aura color revealed that my heart rate has dropped significantly while sleeping. The Enough of the emergency was not so low, but it came very close, and the data allowed my doctors to adjust the medicines.

Most of the basic symptoms are not immediately identified or current when you are in a doctor’s setting, but collecting data from a number of devices in a service like Apple Health solves an important issue of being able to collect data away from the doctor’s office or hospital environment. This shows that it also shows the other important issue with the health approach.

How can Samsung and Zylth provide solutions

With the abundance of data, it proved to be difficult to allow various doctors, physicians, and nurses who provided my care for my access to this data.

My EKG machine can send an EKG readings to an provider, but not only one from the company’s independent directory, and not my registered cardiologist. My Apple Watch data can be manifest personally, but there was no way to allow doctors to safely access it. My CGM data was better, as every CGM provider has its own access system, but we still just just did one -third of the meeting to fix access issues, as the data did not filter properly. Doctors revealed to me that it was frustrated with the current system, as patients and providers would be able to share this data more independently.

This is a place where Samsung’s vision can have a profound effect for the future. It depends on the acquisition of Samsung’s X Health, a company that connects the medical records and technology systems of many major hospitals in the United States. The goal is to use your existing devices – and develop new – to replace dedicated machines and connect them with your caregivers.

During a panel discussion about the future of Zail Health Acquisition and Health, the head of Samsung’s SVP and Digital Health, Dr. Han Pak painted the essence of Samsung’s vision:

“What our users have told us is, look, just tell me what my problems are, but don’t just tell me that I’m sleeping, I can tell me something useful, so I can really do something about it. And thinking, we are fine, we are able to do this in a meaningful way and then you can do it.

Mike Mc Sherry, the founder and CEO of Zail Health, imagined a future where Samsung plays a key role in hardware. “These (phone) are replaced by your devices – clock, color – standstone blood pressure monitor, plus oximator, different types of devices.

The future of health is in clicking from bricks and mortar to transfer to the mortar

    Dr. Raso Sheristha, Lawyer Health

Advocate Health -based Dr. Raso Shristha noted that the important occasion is to move from the patient’s center to a wider personalized location. This means to look beyond medical information in the system and to consider this person as a whole.

The panel indicated the challenge of doing so: cost, or as Rosso Sheristha describes it, “episode, broken, and scattered care method and business model.” Purpose? “To get into attached care everywhere”. He further appreciated the vision from the brick and mortar perspective-where you start from the doctor’s visit-to the clicks and mortar point of view, where doctors can access data while sharing with you and use it to guide them.

A environmental system of partners and providers focuses on patients

All four companies expressed their deep desire to be part of an ecosystem that helped to start health care and technology in the next round. Hung Health President, Jim Persali-which is a muscle care specialist-highlighted how the occupation sits outside the traditional medical care system as a third party provider, but has created a system to resolve and integrate different systems.

It especially resonates with me. Less than a year after my heart attack, I visited a physiological physician after moving to the cross country on the East Coast. Just a week after my second visit, I needed a spinal fusion surgery. By turning back, one of the main reasons (though not just one) was the provider’s failure to access my current medical records and scans, and my recovery increased even when my neurology and rehabilitation teams could not easily access my records from the third -party restoration clinic.

This piece has been an important source of frustration for me as well as millions of patients and providers. If my records were more easily accessible, especially when health insurance pays only a limited number of PT sessions every year, the risk of lifetime loss was very low. The proposed future of Samsung has come too late for me, but it can help someone else hurt.

The benefits of the associated ecosystem are wide, and Zail Health has already taken some steps towards this connected future. Dr. Raso Sheristha described how Zelith – and now, by extension, is being used to provide pre -connected care experience.

Through Zail Health, Advocate Health has developed a digital experience for a pregnant mother. It begins with a secure link, which can be sent through an EMR with a click, as well as the doctor sends a prescription to a pharmacy electronically. The doctor may see when the patient has signed up, guide him on the journey of pregnancy, and if he writes blood pressure cuffs, he can see this data directly inside the EMR. However, this is not just for pregnancy, as they have also integrated more than 70 different third -party apps in the Stanford medical system, including diabetic patients, behaviors health, surgical prevention, and digital experiences for PT rehabilitation.
