Google has added a new feature to Gemini mobile apps, making it possible for users to play audio review, which was previously added to the notebook LM, and was later brought to Gemini earlier this year. However, the functionality was such that when the Gemini app users could upload the file to produce podcast style audio conversation, the app did not help run the aforementioned audio file. Users had to go to the AI Chat Boat website to run it. To fix it, Tech Dev has added an inline media player to the app.
The first 9TO5 viewed by Google, the new feature is now available to all Gemini users globally, which contains the free level of the platform. So, if users now upload a file to prepare the audio review, they will see a new interactive media player on the screen, which will allow them to play the file.

As seen in the above image, the new media player searching bar, the play/pause button, the buttons to recreate and leave 10 seconds, as well as the option to slow down or accelerate the speech between 05x and 2x. In addition, the download button also allows users to download the file and play it locally through a third party app.
In particular, with audio overview, the podcast style can create audio discussions between Gemini two AI hosts (a man and a woman). These hosts discuss this topic with conversation, add their reaction, and even offer additional information, which is potentially obtained from the Internet. Depending on the size of the file and the length of the text, the audio review can take up to five minutes.
Last year, audio reviews gained popularity when this feature was first published in Google’s Notebook LM. Since then, the company has extended this feature to Gemini on the Notebook’s app, web and mobile apps, and there are rumors that Mountain View -based Tech Dev has been examining it for AI review.
