You can really have a multi -taste on a member now and this is the best new feature in 15 years

I have gone back and forth for years if I can really work with a member. The answer has always been: Sort. I can write on a member. I can edit a member. So, I guess I have always been able to “work” with a member. But with running a magic keyboard and iPados 26 beta, I can work as if I would do it on my MacBook or Surface Pro, in which a group of Windows is used throughout the place.

The first public son for iPados 26 fell today. You can download and install it yourself on the current iPads – just know that it may be smaller until the final release in this fall. Nevertheless, I am using the son for most of the week for a better part of the week, and except for some pain points, I always wanted a member. It took Apple for 15 years to get here.

The iPados 26 finally provides us with real Windows, not the splatwave or a slide over or stage manager or any other multi -tasking effort Apple has tried “separating the iPad from the Mac” or made it a “first touch first” experience. I have openly open in one window and the safari is open in the other, and this Google Doctor I am writing in the other right now. Spotif is somewhere in the background. If I want to be naughty about it, I can launch YouTube TV. I opened 10 more apps before I stopped trying to open more. (Sometimes they open somewhere else, but it feels like a bug.)

    These buttons should be familiar.

    These buttons should be familiar.

This is a real multi -tasking and, for most parts for, this is how I work on MacBook air or surface supporters. Apps can be placed on top of each other or rotated around the screen, and where I want them to be dropped. There is also a real arrow for cursor! No more will move a stupid small dot around the screen.

When you open an app, each launch in the entire size window. The familiar red, yellow and green buttons are in the top left corner to turn off, minimize or maximize. I drag the corner inside or out to change the size of the window. Each app also has a new menu bar at the top, so you can see or change all the app settings. In its easy sense, it allows you to select the file> print, for example, if you are in a document. In Apple music, you can choose a file> new playlist, or manage your control and create a new station. It is like the use of apps on Mac.

    Apps have full menu.

    Apps have full menu.

There is also a new file app that makes it easier to access all files stored in your iPad, or i -cloud, so that you can open the documents saved on other computers quickly. And you can add files or folders to your dock. This is not perfect; I wish I could see the drive or save the desktop on Mac, but that’s fine.

All of them work so good that Apple has cleared any excuse for not bringing a touch screen on Mac. Whenever I go to tap them, they are small red, yellow and green buttons, so I can use a cursor or my finger to minimize Windows, or change their size or move things around. If I touch the bottom of the screen, all the apps end and I can watch icons and widgets on my desktop.

However, I still have the reasons for turning to my MacBook Air. Unless I’m connected to a monitor, the 11 -inch screen on my iPad Pro is slightly smaller if I need to dig into a large spreadsheet or if I really want to keep a group of apps in full size. Most time changes the size, but I can’t always see all the chats I want in the slack unless I make it bigger, and still this limited screen is hidden behind other apps due to real estate. I don’t have a 13 -inch iPad Pro or iPad Air to test, but I imagine it helps a little.

In addition, when I prefer to use all apps available here – X, Bluesky, Safari, Chrome, Slack, Spatifs, whatever – desktop version can still use the iPad version still better and easier. Take Google Documents for example: This is bad on the iPad. For any reason I can’t use my cursor to select a group of text properly, and instead need to touch the screen. There is also a bug where I can control the mouse but not type a little. I use a grammarily plugin to catch stupid mistakes in my writing, but it works through the keyboard plugin on the iPad that is not as effective as the browser extension on Mac or PC. My grammar is damaged.

I'll just travel with my member.

The iPad will still not be able to cut it. There are many professional apps for Max that are not made for the iPad just. And some people need extra horsepower lac Mac that you can get from more powerful chips. But for people who can mostly work in a group of Windows? This is what is happening.

This is a small test when I think about whether a new gadget will work for me or not. I think of myself, whether, last weekend or somewhere on a journey, I will jump and if I have to do it, I will work. Most of the time I will bring my MacBook Air or Surface Pro with Only in case This is something I can’t do with my phone. – With iPados 26, I no longer have to take my MacBook Air.
