Samsung’s annual foldable refreshment includes a three of the devices this year. While the Z Fold 7 comes with an advanced processor and camera, Z Flip 7 takes many technical details of its predecessor. In fact, this year’s most important upgrade is a more wide front display, or Flex window, as the company prefers to call it.
Samsung, too, has added another large battery to a thin foldable, which is technically impressive. However, the company has brought minimum software to the places and brought a slight improvement. The upgrades are good, but is they enough?

Samsung has caught one of its few foldable rivals by increasing the front display from 3.4 inches to 4.1 inches substantially. The two camera cutouts that interrupt this bright, clear display are the only things.
Despite large screens (and battery), Philip 7 is thinner than last year’s model. Its measure is 6.4 mm (0.25 inches) thick, below 6.9 mm (0.27 inches). This Galaxy is equal to the S25 Edge, where the largest sales point is thin. I should not say this, but when you add it, the thickness doubles: Samsung says it is 13.7 mm (0.54 inches) when it is closed. However, you measure it, it is still the thinner.

Z Flip 7 has a decent battery life, large screens and more AI smart. However, the cameras are in history and Samsung is not offering enough utility on the second screen of this foldable.

The Flex window now has a 120 -herts refresh rate, it can reach the brightness level of the brightness of 2,600 nits (S25 Ultra) and features any Samsung smartphone display (1.25 mm) of the most thin bezel (1.25 mm). Increasing the brightness is an important upgrade on a screen that is mainly used to see your device from across the desk or in the sunlight. Samsung said he was able to increase the display to the edges by applying water proof coating on components below the AMOLED display. This means that the screen needs less bezel around the frame.
Samsung also extended the foldable main screen to 6.9 inches – which is a remarkable step from 6.4 inches of the previous model. The company also wisely moved closer to the more common smartphone display ratio of 21: 9. Although this is not the same, say, Galaxy S25 or iPhone 16, video content now fits better.
The previous Z Philips had longer screens, making it difficult to reach the upper corners when using one hand. Although Z. Philip 7 has a better side ratio, it is bigger, which unfortunately means that it has the same problem. If Samsung had changed the proportion of the aspect while maintaining the size of the screen, it would have hit the airgonomic sweet space.
Not for the first time, Samsung says it has reinforced Philip’s occupation procedures. Although I can’t confirm its longevity, the beefier is close to the ‘think’ than their predecessors.
I like to open a little more power to open because it makes the entire device more solid. If you are hoping that this is the year where the display crease disappears, I am afraid that this is not happening. For those who are never owned by foldable, the crease of flip 7 is largely unusable.
Camera

The story of this year’s Philip cameras? Most of the same Philip 7 has the same 50 megapixel F/1.8 primary setup that has a 12 MP ultra -wide lens with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 123 degrees. There is also a 10 MP camera from the inside, but with a better front screen of flip, you should really use the primary camera pair.
The best pictures come from a well -bright scenes. Samsung’s night mode is a bit aggressive, but it is still great for shots at night, even if it shows more processing on skin heads and faces. Flip 7 default 12.5 megapixel images, but if you want all the details you can switch to 50MP steel-and you have a permanent hand. There is no dedicated telephoto camera, which means Zoom 2X is limited to the crop, which is a hindrance to the versatility of Z. Philip 7. Once again: If you want a foldable with the best cameras, you have to go with the Fold Series.

In connection with the video capture, Philip 7 can record the video in HDR, 8 -bit to 10 -bit HDR. And you can still hold the Z -Flip 7 like a retro campcore, which is much more pleasant than that.
Software

Despite the big screen, Samsung hasn’t really developed the Flex window software this year. However, there are some improvements. When using the front display to take selfies and videos, the interface floats around the icons and the format buttons for the display to find out if you are trying to pull photos. If you want to use a special filter on your shots, Z. Philip 7 can show a direct preview of each filter before you apply them.
There are now two other software additions to the Philip series, now and now briefing, which has been introduced in this year’s S25 series. Now the bar is a Samsung spin on the dynamic island of the iPhone, which shows appropriate and timely sensitive information that is not reported at all, but what you want to know about. This includes direct updates from riding shares apps such as fitness matrix, weather or Uber.
You can now tap the bar without opening the phone, and if you want to communicate with Gemin Live of Google, you will not need to bring it out. This is another Android feature that is suitable for foldable, as you can talk to Gemini with the least physical interaction on Z. Philip 7.
Most other apps to use you, you still need to install the Multiuster Launcher (which is Made Through Samsung) to view and use basic software like Gmail and Chrome. This is a job for now, as Samsung has not extended the approved list of six apps that are allowed to run on the Flex Window of Z. Philip 7.
Battery life and performance
Matt Smith for Enlegates
Despite being thin than last year’s model, Philip 7 has a 4,300mAh battery, which is 300mah larger than its predecessor. Along with this, a new processor has jumped in a long life, with a new processor (3nm made from her home).
In our standard battery roundown tests, Philip 7 played the video for five and a half hours. This is a large jump from a 13 -hour round that I got from 6 to flip. I was very surprised that I conducted a test twice more to confirm this and similar results came.
The new chip never felt especially slow, either, whether I’m gaming, using the Galaxy AI features or completing other tax activities. He said, the phone will be hot in my hand and in my pocket, during camera testing and location -based tasks, such as Google Maps and City Mappers.
In my daily use, with heavy testing, I go through a solid day before I think about rechargeing. Unfortunately, the wired charging speed of the Galaxy Z Philip 7 is still at the top of 25W, with Samsung to call Super Fast Charging. It is the same speed as Z Flip 6 (and Base S25), but when other phones are using 45W charging speed (or more), it is slightly influenced, especially on such a premium device.
Wrap

By refreshing the design and furthering the Z Flip, Samsung has made it easy to handle its small foldable. At the same time, he surprised engineering by squeezing into large screens and more coffee battery. However, some aspects of Philip 7 are lacking, especially cameras, which have not changed since last year.
Samsung also needs to work more in his Flex window. Although there is the ability to use most apps on the small front display, it is still a sharp process and most of them are not ready for the tinier screen. There is unused capacity and Z Flip 7 does not advance its foldable category.
