Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has announced an official launch of sharp QI 2 25W wireless charging, which already already certified and “several hundred” are still pending. The most interesting thing is, it promises that along with iPhone support, many “major Android smartphones” will eventually adopt this standard.
We know that the sharp cue 2 charging is coming up, the initial certificate with the brands, including the 6WW, the sprouts, including the sprouts, and the bases, and some of the even announcing the power banks and chargers. So far we will only know this tech through its version number, Q 2.2, but the WPC has confirmed that it will be known instead of Q25W.
The WPC has confirmed that the iPhones will support Q225W, though not which models are. The iPhone 16 series currently offers 15W QI2 charging speed but more than 25W than Magg. Since magnetic Q2 is based on Apple’s meg safe designs, this is why the 16 series can get a refreshing work for new standards, and perhaps the incoming iPhone 17 models will also offer support.
The group also says that “Major Android smartphones will join the Q2 environmental system for the first time with this launch,” though no details have been provided. To date, only one Android phone has fully supported the Q2, HMD Skyline. The recently -handed flagships of Samsung, including the recent Z -Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, are confirmed by “Qi 2 Reddy”, which means they support 15W Q2 charging but do not add magnetic colors needed for the full speed, which requires owners to buy magnetic 2 case for full functionality. We have asked the WPC to comment on whether the incoming Android Support will be full Q2, or just Q2.
“The speeding building behind the next step in the evolution of the Qi Standard is incredible,” said Fadi Mushri, chair of the WPC’s Board of Directors. “Consumers will be happy when they experience Q2 25W because it provides about 70 70 % more power than the original Qi 2. The Q2 25W certification line for launch is unprecedented, as is the quality and expansion of our members’ product designs.”
