- Google Home and Nest users are reporting significant decline in reliability, in which devices often misunderstand commands or fail to respond at all.
- Basic features such as lights, routines, and speaker groups have to be controlled.
- Although the real reason for the declining experience is unclear, consumers suspect that the upcoming works of the future have been blamed.
Google’s smart speakers and hubs appear to decrease permanently. A recent Reddate Thread has highlighted that these devices, especially the old nest and the speaker, have become more incredible over the years, and this is not the first time consumers have expressed these concerns.
A frustrated user wrote, “Now, I can barely understand any order, or anything I can do first.
Consumers are reporting michery commands and delayed reactions to devices that perform wrong tasks or completely ignore instructions. Everyday works such as turning on or off lights, playing music in specific rooms, or playing morning routines as they do not work as they were before.

What is the point of this is that these are not just a few isolated complaints. It seems that this is a pattern that affects consumers who have invested a lot in Google’s smart home hardware. Features that once worked without interruption, such as controlling the speaker in multiple rooms or stimulating sound -identifying routines, has become inactive or completely inactive for many.
One user said they could no longer play white noise in their baby room. Instead, the sound is sounding in whatever room the sound stands. Another user shared a strange problem where the weather demand depends on who is speaking in his house.
“I demand the weather, and it gives the right answer every time. My wife asks for the weather, and she literally chooses wherever she wants. Yesterday it was Eddie Will, Kentucky. Today she chose Shoni, Oklahoma. We do not live in this state.”
Some users have also reported a strange error. One person said that whenever he asked his Google device to shut down a fan, all his lights were shut down instead. Another user told how an easy request to close the bedroom lights causes closing every light around their home and around it.
Although the real cause of these problems is not clear, the common theme is that Google’s smart home devices, especially the old models, appear to deteriorate over time. Some consumers suspect that Google’s upcoming gymnasium is responsible for the updated works. Others believe that pushing old hardware in favor of new devices can be a deliberate step.
Whatever the reason, one thing is clear. Many Google Home users are no longer getting smart experience for which they sign up, and they are not happy with it.
