Meta has beaten even more than Apple AI talent before the smart glass collisions

The competition between Apple and Meta is getting heated in a smart glass space – and now it is spreading behind the curtains. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gorman, Meta hired two more AI researchers from Apple, which increased the increasing list of key defects.

Tom Gunter and Mark Lee are the latest names to leave Apple’s AI division. An experienced engineer had already gone away from Apple to another AI company before joining the meta. Lee was a member of a more junior team, but still respected Apple’s efforts to learn. Both will work on Meta’s hardware AI measures, including smart glasses.

A prominent figure in Apple’s AI strategy, Meta has come out immediately after receiving Roming Peng shortly after her services. Gorman had actually reported the departure of Peng as part of a potential trend – and it seems that the forecast is now being confirmed.

These tricks are important because both Apple and Meta are investing in smart glasses a lot, but are taking different perspectives. Meta already has a product in the market through its Ray Ben Partnership, which offers screen, sound assistant support, and some basic AI features. On the other hand, Apple is rumored to create a minimum first -generation device without screen.

Meta’s current smart glasses offer display elements and built -in AI tools, but they have not yet been widely adopted. Apple’s upcoming product will potentially focus on cameras, audio quality, and strict iPhone integration. If it launches as expected, the company’s first smart glasses can look and work like the evolution of air pods with vision properties rather than a completely growing reality tool.

In this context, engineering teams make a difference. Both companies will rely on modern AI to enable the sound conversation, increase the camera, and real -time processing. It seems that Meta’s strategy involves the construction of its AI Bench by hiring people who already have Apple’s approach experience.

It is not yet clear when Apple’s glasses will be launched. Analysts expect the first version in the next two years to arrive at a time, possibly ahead of a more modern vision pro successor. Meanwhile, Meta continues to repeat with the new hardware that integrates AI’s features more deeply in everyday use.

What is clear is that AI is becoming a key source in the race worth wearing talent. Since both companies work to make smart glasses useful, comfortable and intelligent, engineer hardware designers behind the screen can play an important role.
