One of the best features of Amazon’s new Alexa Plus is that I no longer need “Alexa speaking”. I have been checking a voice assistant for almost a week now, and what I say, regardless of how I say it. This big shift is another headline of a correctional generating AI -powered assistant that I am examining: Agent AI. But it needs work.

The idea is that I can talk to Alexa Plus as I want a real personal assistant and ask him to work, like keeping a restaurant on his friend’s birthday, finding an electrician to fix his broken spraying pump, or booking a ticket at Chris Isaac concert.

The assistant can then serve as a “AI agent” and can visit online services for me to make everything. With better calendar management and the ability to remember the things you say, Alexa’s agent is capable of making AI assistant more useful.

The features of Alexa’s AI agent are neither wide nor smooth without any smooths that are to change my real -life personal support: I

At least in theory. In fact, it is very limited. Alexa Plus relies on partnership with specific services. It just can’t roam the web and can’t bid me. So far, this includes ticket master, open table, Uber, and Thumbatic. Inspired, Alexa arranged to complete several stages, overall, the current features of the AI agent are neither wide nor to change my real life personal assistant without interruption: I.

Alexa Plus is still in the preliminary access to the beta phase, and Amazon says more integration is coming soon. These include ordering the grocery order (through “several grocery suppliers in the United States”), delivery via Grabb, and the booking of Spa visits through Wagaro.

These can be more useful to me, especially the grocery order. I already use Alexa for my shopping list, but then I have to put everything in my Harris Tetter Shopping app for pickup or delivery. If Alexa can take this list and add it to such a service like Instacker, it will reduce a portion of the work for me.

The concert booking was mostly smooth experience.

Of the three agents I experienced, I was booking a ticket in a program by the best ticket master. After launching Dodi – when I asked about sports events and told about the youth basketball training session – I tried again. “What are the events in Charleston next month for which you can buy me tickets?”

Alexa produced a list of about 10 local sports programs and concerts at Eco Show 15 that I was using (Alexa Plus is more useful on the screen). He told me, “You have found music shows like BlackBerry smoking and Mike Campbell on August 5 and a collective spirit on August 6. On August 2, there is also a Caverbat band. Anything holds your interest?”

I looked at Chris Isaac concert on this list (I like a good The evil game) And asked me to go tickets. The balcony seats were received by everyone in .198.15 and asked how much I want, while also showing me more expensive powers.

I chose the cheap seats, and it added me to my cart at every step, ending with the checkout button where my credit card details were already inhabited. (When I first established Alexa Plus, I added my ticket master account to the Alexa app.)

I canceled before purchase, because I don’t like The evil game $ 200, and Alexa confirmed that tickets have been issued. However, to a dangerous extent, after that day, a pop -up in the Alexa app told me Anyone I can order tickets with access to Alexa devices. Amazon: Please, I will take a pin option here.

The assistant got all the way for the checkout and already settled my credit card details.

The assistant got all the way for the checkout and already settled my credit card details.

Then, I told Alexa to book dinner for two in the city Charleston last night for last night. ” He returned three options, which is just regrettable – Charleston has a Happing Fooden Sen. I chose a French place in which I went before and changed it and told Alexa to “Make it for two weeks on Friday.” Uncontrolled, Alexa confirmed, confirmed, merely and confirmed on Friday, July 31 at 7pm, and then asked, “Do I want to book?” After my confirmation, he said it would also include reservation in my attached Gmail calendar. Easy!

    Alexa had messed up history

Either I thought. Then I received a text message from the open table, confirming my reservation for this Thursday, July 31. Alexa had messed up history. I asked Alexa to change the reservation on Friday, August 1st, and also updated his calendar.

Although he finally booked the table, Alexa took longer and less accurate if I did the open table app on my phone (or more realistic, using most restaurants in Charloston) and did it myself.

While Alexa found me an electrician, it was not successful to book.

While Alexa found me an electrician, it was not successful to book.

Finally, I had been leaving for two years to deal with Alexa: search for electricity. I mean getting a circuit for my spraying pump. It’s like my internet router, so when the pump kicks, it trips the circuit-and goes down my Wi-Fi.

The big difference is that I did all this By hand -free

I told Alexa that I need an electrician to fix the spraying system, and asked if it could make a book? It draws a list of several “highly closed electricity” in my area through Thumbetic, which highlighted the top three. I chose one and asked him to schedule a visit for a week from now. Alexa asked several follow -up questions about my home and specific issues. Alexa then said that he was working on sending a request through the Thumbatic website, and I would soon get updated.

After a few hours, there is still no word from Alexa. But I received an email from Thumbatic (the first of many people…) and asked a text message of electricity to meet me for a schedule or text. There was no smooth set and its authorized experience that I expected.

Still, the big difference is that I did all this By hand -free. I can set up dinner dates and make food at dinner or fold the laundry. As a two -working mother, anything that helps with multi -tasking so I can complete my dolist quickly. But although tech is impressive, the depth lack of depth and the failures I have experienced in two of my three tests means that I still do not intend to rely on Alexa to do this for me.
