The first thing to consider when buying the cooler is how you use it. If you are not going out for several days at a time, you probably don’t need to cooler at the expensive high -end. All the coolers we have suggested are able to stop things at a safe temperature for a day, provided you keep them in the shade. Similarly, if you are visiting uneven regions, you would like flies wheels – and if you are just going to the beach, you will not need them.
Hard -sided cooler: This old Green Colomin coolers to one of the most important locations of each camping trip – Yatis, which costs the same when Coleman began making cooler. You may be wondering why Yatis are so expensive. Which I cannot respond, but Yeti accelerated the cooler industry by introducing rotation molding, or “rootomolding”, where the melted plastic is molded on the foam insulation. Rotomold coolers offer smooth, uniform density in their walls and lids, which improve cooler performance rapidly. On the contrary, these ancient, cheap plastic coolers we all used include thin walls, leakage sutures and low insulation lids. Whether you need extra insulation depends on what you are doing and how hot it is when you are doing it. Want to get more information? We know that the most insulation is explained.
Hard -sided coolers usually have luxury properties as you want, such as leak -proof lid and drain plugs, and some even bears avoid (check this list of bear -proof products if you are going to Arsin Country). The negative side is that these coolers are usually very large and heavy.
Soft -sided cooler: The soft -sided cooler has a well -padded, impressive insulated sling bag (such as yaty hopper) to roll down, dry bag -style cooler is excellent for these light beach days. The best soft coolers are easy to carry, pack easily if they are not used, and have a ability to lack traditional hard coolers. (I used dry bag -style coolers such as, well, dry bags.) Ice doesn’t last long, but for a short journey where you do not need a large cooler, these are what we recommend. Our old choice was stopped. We are looking for another.
Electric cooler: Certainly, they are not necessarily, but if you are going to long adventures and have access to electricity, you will never need to worry about melting your snow.
Other features to find:
- Drain plug: This makes life easier to emit water from your cooler. If you are buying a big cooler, make sure it is one of them.
- Distributor: Long -term cold use is one of our most important points to keep a two -cooler: one for the fridge or hard, and the other for drinks. If this is not possible, you can get something similar by getting cooler along the divide wall. In this way you can pack the ice firmly to keep this meat on a short time, and on the other hand you can use to cool drinks with cubed ice.
- Wheels: The coolers get heavy and the wheels are very good. They will not always work (good luck to your cooler on the roots of the trees.), But when they do, they are valuable.
