The Samsung’s safe folder was reportedly a major security flaw that eliminated the feature’s functionality. However, according to the report, South Korean Tech Dev has now fixed the issue, which is really safe. The secure folder allegedly allowed anyone to check the stored apps, folders and files if the user had a separate work profile on the device. It is said that the error is due to a dispute with Android software components, which requires specific permits, ignoring the safety folder safety measures.

Samsung’s secure folder is safe once

According to a report by the Android Authority, Tech Dev has fixed the security error with the release of a stable version of One UI 8. The latest version of the operating system was released with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Philip 7. So far, update has not been sent for any other Galaxy smartphone.

The safe folder feature was introduced by Samsung in 2017. The company developed it as a private and secret place, which is a Samsung Knox security platform -powered space. It makes a separate space on your device where you can operate apps in isolated manner or store sensitive folders and files.

This feature is reportedly caused by security flaws and Android profiles. Profiles in Android are like separate desktops on laptops or PCs. Users can create sandboxed spaces where cloned apps and files can be saved. Any data in this place is considered as a separate entity, including access to the apps. Many companies use this feature to create work profiles for employees, but users can also create clones or private profiles.

It is said that due to the implementation of the secure folder, some components of the Android system considered it as a standard work profile. Because of this, these ingredients were not considered very safe by compromising their effectiveness, the Android Authority explained. For example, photo -picking and permission controller can be used to view images and apps that were stored in a safe folder.

With an UI 8, it is said that the problem of misunderstanding is now solved, and the secure folder is no longer considered as a work profile. This means that the Galaxy smartphone users can eventually start using this feature when the update reaches its device once.
