The recent journey of Paris reinforces my belief that if I (a) lived there, my life would be significantly more chic, and (b) I saw the beauty and style of many French women in the city.

Spent the day in search of different ArrondissementsChamps-Alaius walking and Saine, as well as dinner, made me wish I could imitate the Paris-style beauty in my daily life, à à à à Andrea Martel (Camley Cotton) from Netflix Show Call my agent!.

And when I usually sleep well, when I work to improve my sleep, I wanted to see if it had any effect on my sleep.

    You can like

What is ‘French woman sleep hack’?

Clinical psychologist and sleep expert, Dr. Leah Keller, says the “” French woman “is believed to apply a mild aroma before bed as part of the night’s ritual.

It often passes as a family tradition, Dyer aromatic expert Esperonza Pentado said Criminal.

In fact, I was not fully convinced that wearing a fragrance on the bed would have a far more important effect than feeling more glamorous in my pajamas. But “Vivens”, I thought (after entering Google Translate “Come” after entering) …

What happened when I tried to have a Sleep Hack to a French woman

For the past few years, I have been wearing 34 Boulevare St. Germine EvaD toilets, a collection of amber, patcholi, roses, cinnamon and Black Craonts.

Diptec is a French brand that begins in Paris. Even my scent is named after his first shop in the city. parfait, non? However, since this sleep hack usually involves wearing different scents at night (French make -up artist Wellet said In the vaccine When she wears another scent during the day, she especially wears a scent of musky at night), I have to find another option at bedtime.

My fragrance combination is currently quite limited, so I also chose the arron, one of the aroma of my boyfriend, in which the deputy (I admit that I suggested that he tried the brand). Still, it includes French, and Jasmine (as well as Juniper Berry, Tonka Ben and Cedar), which research has shown that nighttime awareness can help reduce (more on it).

My night routines usually contain a hot shower that lasts from 30 minutes to one hour before I go to bed. I assumed it would also be helpful for a sleep hack, as I would be in terms of an empty scent.

Historically, the application of my aroma has been foolish and stupid, but I am trying to restrain it late, and now I just spray at the pulse points behind my wrists, neck and ears. I am glad to know that it is the same way as the French smells (though they also spit the back of the knees!).

For this experiment, I sprayed my partner’s aroma on these spots, and added Spertz to my pajama T -shirt. I am confident that he uses his fragrances to a great extent, and it may have been a traumatic IRD liberal application for him, because after that he asked for him, laughing that I am “proud” (though for record, he later confessed that he could not take me with each other).

The latest, first thing I felt was that its scent was slightly different to me, a little lighter, and I liked it. Jasmine contains smoke, voddy and flower notes, and the overall effect was amazingly pleasant and quiet.

I was feeling extraordinarily anxious during the day, and I feared wearing a scent would be annoying. That I will focus on it and this will delay the onset of anxiety and sleep.

Instead, I really got a scent. Perhaps this is because I like to wear aroma and add it to joy, but I felt easily easily than before the evening.

And, when I usually did not sleep faster than to do, the night I slept with the scent I felt that I was not feeling restless (as I sometimes do) that I was still awake even though my partner had fallen immediately (as if he always happened).

Since quitting alcohol four years ago, I wake up more and more once at night, unless I feel stressed or upset at bedtime. The night I tried to hack the French woman, I woke up on one occasion, and quickly withdrew, when my alarm was sounding in the morning.

Given that I was getting anxious during the day, I expected to disrupt the sleep at night, so it is possible that the calm effect I had with the scent helped prevent further obstacles.

How can the scent at night help you sleep?

I don’t use a sleep tracker, so it’s hard to know if this hack has improved my sleep. But, wearing a fragrance has a positive, comfortable effect on me before taking it to me, and I didn’t wake up more than usual, even though I usually feel more pressure than the previous day.

Dr. Keller explained, “Wearing a quiet aroma on the bed can help stimulate the softness and indicate the brain that it is time to end.”

While the CEO and Chief Perfumers in the Dmitter fragrance, Mark Creams says they are not particularly familiar with the use of aroma for sleep, they do, “Many European women know who wears a fragrance on the bed.”

Wearing a calm aroma on the bed can help stimulate softness

And, with the popularity, the use of perfume at night to improve sleep is also supported by research.

A research published in the journal Sleep In 2024, he saw that 30 sensitive goldsmiths spend four nights in the sleeping laboratory, without any fragrance “baseline” after night, participants had “random exposure” “a high dose of Jasmine’s aroma, or a low dose related to essential oils” on his T -shirts.

Results? Researchers wrote, “Compared to basin, the quality of sleep and the total time of sleep revealed significantly when using the fragrances. In particular, the high and low doses of both Jasmine showed the weekend after the onset of sleep.”

Dr. Keller added, “The fragrances like lavender and chamomile have been studied for their quiet effects on the nervous system.”

Another study, which is looking at the effects of essential oils mixed with neuroli on patients with lavender, Roman chamomiles, and ICUs, found that it “effectively reduced the level of anxiety and increased sleep quality.”

Creams say, “In Demter, while discussing how the aroma can affect, we understand that the way you feel it is getting your smell, or more seriously, that you can change your emotions or temperament with a scent. So if you believe you will help lavender, you will help you …

Although he notes that aroma therapists “believe that the process works only when you are using a natural lavender, the essential oils that include all microchemicals,” he says, “We think it is more than memory than physical reactions.”

Dr. Keller also notes that aroma can have a psychological impact.

“The smell is a powerful feeling associated with memory and emotion, so permanent aroma can form a psychological commitment with rest and comfort.”

It is also worth noting that, of many of his attributes, my partner has a very calm influence on my life, so when I wore it for just one night, applying its scent can help my comfort.

3 points for use of perfume to help you sleep

    1. Find comfortable, soft scent.

When it comes to choosing your nighttime aroma, Dr. Keller suggests, “Find the fragrances that are shown to support gentle and reduce anxiety, such as lavender, sandal, chamomile, neuroli and yelong-ling.”

But don’t worry if any of them appeal to you, because choosing the scent that works for you is equally important.

He added, “Any scent that is resting you personally is ideal. Find a soft scent – it doesn’t need to be strong.”

Karmer believes that the effect of the aroma on sleep is “more than memory than a physical reaction.” So he suggests that “whatever smelling is usually the most comfortable you will help you sleep.”

“For many people, it would be a lavender in some form,” he said, “To me, it is always about individual reactions to the fragrance.”

    2. Don’t go overboard

If you are anything like me, when it comes to fragrance, it is even higher. I like a rich, deep, warm aroma (I talk to the patcholi and amber notes in my day’s scent) and I know that I probably applies mostly.

But using more power of aroma, or choosing a fragrance that is very strong, is not ideal to apply at night.

Dr. Keller says, “Avoid anything that gives you more strength because it can in fact interfere with your fall or sleep capacity,” says Dr. Keller, adding that you should avoid excessive stimulation or severe fragrances.

    3. Collect using perfume with other indicators of bedtime

My experience with using a French woman’s sleep hack was that she also used to eat sugar or heavy eating in the evening, to reduce my hot shower, reduce the light in the bedroom and change the fan and rotate the cold air in the past before sleeping.

Dr. Keller agrees that the hack will be more effective if you use other indicators at bedtime.

She says, “An hour before bed, dim your lights, close the screens, keep your room cool and quiet, and try to pull breathing exercises or lightly.”

“You can also combine the aroma with a sound indicator, such as calm music, or at night with tea rituals. At one, this behavior produces a multi -sensory signal that tells your brain that the time has come to rest.”

Does wearing a scent on bed help you sleep? This is my decision

As the above studies show that some fragrances have had a positive effect on sleep.

And when I can’t say that I have noticed a big difference in the beginning or quality of my sleep, I found it calm before I would go to bed.

And, there is a possibility that this comfortable effect helped avoid more disruption, because I was getting restless during the day, and anxiety could lead to further awareness at night.

In addition to feeling calm on me, the French habit of wearing a scent on the bed also feels like a process of self -care.

So, once I got the scent of my nighttime (since I am not sure I can borrow from my partner’s scent longer), I have decided that I will add it to my bed routine.

I want to see the long -term effects, but if you are also considering trying it, it is important to note, as the doctor does, that this hack will not be for everyone.

“Everyone with asthma, allergies, migraine, or chemical sensitivity should be cautious in the bedroom, especially in the bedroom.”
