Open has just dropped a bit again – and this time, this is not a new model. Although the company brakes on its next general open source model, it is hitting gas with a very new feature for Chat GPT: a fully AI agent that can actually work for you, not just chat.

Yes, Openi is officially joining the AI Agent Race. If you are listening to all the things around the supercharged digital helpers that can handle multi-faceted tasks rather than just talking to you-this is. And the open version is called Chat GPT Agent.

This new tool has not begun from the beginning. The agent collects the brain of the other tools of Openi, such as operator – which can browse and click around the websites – and deep research – which can draw information from the entire Internet and convert it into a clean pack reports. But now, instead of just getting the answers, you can literally do things – just by typing what you want in a simple language. What kind of things, do you ask? Open showed you for the client’s meeting to prepare a prepare of your calendar, ordering your calendar, ordering ingredients for a large family breakfast or making a slide deck that compares your company with the company. In addition, with Chat GPT connector, it can enter Gmail, Google Drive, Gut Hub, and more – to pull into information based on what you are asking.

But don’t worry, it’s just not going to be a bully (at least that should not happen). You are still in charge. Chat GPT asks for permission before taking action and if you want to take power, you can stop or jump at any time.

Chat GPT can now work for you using your own computer.

    – Openi (@Openi) July 17, 2025Open says it makes it all more useful for chatigatic – work and at home. In your 9 to 5, you can use it to dashboards to whipped presentations, shuffle meetings, update the spreadsheet without interrupting your format and regulate your next team Officeite. And for your personal life? Make a travel plan, book a dinner party, schedule a dentist’s appointment – all this with a indicator.

If you are subscribing to Chat GPT Pro, Plus or Team, the agent is already beginning to end. Just go to the “agent format” in the tools menu or type “/agent” to try it. Enterprises and education users will get it at the end of this summer, while the people of Europe and Switzerland will need to wait a little more – Open has not yet fixed the rollout date there. Why? Well, my guess is due to strict AI laws in these areas.

About which, of course. , Comes with great power… Yes, you guessed: concerns. But Openi claims that he is giving a new safety system to avoid abuse.

For one, there is a real -time monitor that examines the conversation as soon as he is (not sure how big it is about privacy). It uses a built -in for flags associated with sensitive areas such as chemical or biological weapons.

And the interesting thing is that the memory is closed as default – meaning that the agent will not immediately remember past convoys to avoid the risk of injection hex. Open AI says it will bring back memory later, but only if it is safe to do so.

Now, is this future? Maybe yes. Nevertheless, we have to wait and see how all this is going on in the real world. As it looks, it is something that is promising a smart agent that can handle your digital life – that is, in fact, making it reliable and safe enough to use it daily.

Personally, I am not fully riding all this “Let’s put Ai in every corner of your life and see what happens.” But big tech players are clearly.

For example, Google has just announced its own batch of a new AI agent, which is baked in search. One allows you to call from AI to stores and get prices and availability for items like dry cleaners or pet groomers – then reports the results. So now you don’t even need to make a phone call. Wild times, heh?
