Samsung has just unveiled its $ 900 Galaxy Philip 7 per, which the company has called the most affordable foldable phone so far. Despite this position in the history of Samsung, the Galaxy Z Philip 7 is still a specialist compared to the $ 700 Motorola Razer 2025, which has a decisive difference in the price, which makes his value even more interesting.

The reason for this is that Samsung and Motorola Claim are neck and neck to advance the shell shells of shell foldables. The first modern era Motorola Razr came out in early 2020 and the initial Samsung Galaxy Z Philip came out months later, and since then, companies have begun annual payments by repeating their designs. However, last year, Motorola divided his RazR series into a pair of models, a cheap and a premium one, to appeal to two different potential owners. As a result, Motorola has sold about 3 million flip smartphones since 2022. Now Samsung has a model that is trying to compete if he talks about high price phone buyers.

The difference between Razr 2025 and the new Galaxy Z Philip 7 per 7 is very easy for some phone buyers to choose: If they prefer cheap, there is nothing in Samsung’s claiml to agree to choose the preir handset.

But a deep comparison shows specific audiences for each foldable. Motorola Razer 2025 is for people who want a premium iPhone 16 or Samsung Galaxy S25 for a clam shell foldable and do not mind the lower spectacles. Samsung Galaxy Z Philip is for people who want to pay a little higher for high performance but they do not want to spend a full $ 1,100 full for the Galaxy Z Philip 7 or Motorola Razer Ultra (2025).

Although we have not yet experienced the Galaxy Z Philip 7 per, the matching of its spears and last year’s Galaxy Z Philip 6 gives us a good idea that it has the potential. Samsung’s flip 7 per Snapdragon processor is lacking, however, its performance can be close to the motorla. Here is a suitable route to the Galaxy Z Philip 7 per vs. Motorola Razer 2025.

    Design and display

You will be excused to think that these flip phones look almost the same. Both devices are folded in half, they have external core display with twin cameras that open the phone or flat, and have an internal display with a selfie camera that can be used only when the device opens (says, for video chat). Both also have IP48 water and dust resistance, so they are safe from sinking for half an hour, and they have some shields against dust, though they should not be around or around the sand.

The fastest visual difference is with a 3.4 -inch emulated core screen (720 by 748 pixels) of the Galaxy Z Philip 7 per, which has an angle cut out around its dual back cameras. On the other hand, Motorola Razr in 2025, its 3.6 -inch AMOLED core screen display (1,056 by 1,066 pixels) is wrapped around the cameras, resulting in more screen real estate (although it prevents lenses).

Bright sunlight can be difficult on any phone’s cover display, as the motorla’s handset contains a maximum of 1,700 nets, while the outer screen of the Samsung Foldable is at the top of 1,600 nets. But Z. Philip is smooth, with 90 HHz refresh rate, compared to 60 hits of 7 per cent.

Of course, the biggest difference between the two core screens is the software. RazR supports any Android app outside the box, which you can use the screen as you will call Android regularly. Flip 7 per screen widgets default, though through some changes in the settings and through an app called Multicaster, you can get apps to run on the display. Experience feels like a thought and is nowhere to be as much as you will find with a motorla’s cover display.

When it is open, the hand sets look almost the same, though the 6.9 -inch AMOLED display of the Motorola Razr 2025 is slightly larger than the Galaxy Z Philip 7 per 6.7 -inch AMOLED screen. Since they both have 2,640 pixels via 1,080, this means that the Samsung foldable has a slightly pixel density (around 426 pixels per inch 413 ppI), so most people will probably not consider it. What they can see is the difference in the maximum brightness, with Razr 2025 with 3,000 nuts and the Galaxy Z Flip is at the top of 2,600 nets. The internal display of both foldables contains a maximum of 120Hz refresh rate.

The last comparison is in the colors of the Motorola Razer 2025 hand -winning, as it comes in black, white, pistol pink and light green. As in the back section, the Razr contains many different materials like wagon leather. The Galaxy Z Philip is only black or white per 7.

The Razr has a 50 -megapixel camera and a 13 -megapixel ultra -wide camera embeds into the core screen.

    Camera

Both Claim Shell Foldable has one identical camera, at least on paper, with an ultra -wide camera (Z. Philip 7 per, 13 megapixel for 13 megapixel) with a 50 -megapixel main camera. Similarly, the cameras on each phone can usually be used when the phone opens or when the phone is folded, for selfies using the core screen (since their sensors have more megapixels than the internal screen selfie camera, so they take sharp images).

Each Philip phone also has a front feeing camera on an internal display, which is taking sharp images with its 32 megapixel shooter, compared to Z. Philip 7 per 10 megapixel camera.

The “possibility” is an operative word, as we do not have time to test Z. Philip 7 per and thus its camera will take the leak of spin. Our closest comparison is last year’s Z. Philip 6, which puts good shots of the day and night, which is “good enough to post IG and T -Tuktok”, as CNET Managing Editor Patrick Holland noted in his review. In comparison, Razr takes 2025 respected images, though its AI processing results in unnaturally dynamic colors.

Z Flip can record 7 per video in 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. Razr 4K video can also shoot, but at a slow 30fps.

    Spears and battery

Spring is another area where phones are significantly different, significantly in their chip set, and subsequent performance shows why the cost of Samsung phone is $ 200. Z. Philip 7 packs a Samsung Built -in acne 2400 packs, the same chip used in Galaxy S24 per, which is another low -cost version of the flagship phone. In the Gack Bench 6 tests, the S24 FE performed slightly worse than the Galaxy S24 (which was run by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 General 3), but Google Pixel is better than 9 Pro XL (Google’s Tancer G4 processor).

On the other hand, the motorla razor is powered by the 7400x chip in 2025, which performed significantly worse than both Galaxy S24 and Google Pixel 9A in the Gack Bench 6 testing. Although CNET’s senior editor Mike Sorino considered the path 2025 right for everyday tasks such as apps and multi -tasking, he suggested that foldable high graphics settings were not the best option for gaming.

Both devices have 8GB of RAM, which is apparently baseline for AI features on smartphones. The Z Flip 7 comes with either 128GB or 256GB storage, while RazR 2025 is offered with only 256GB. Flip with 256GB costs 60 960, which means that it is in fact Razr is 2025 to $ 260 more.

Motorola’s foldable has a 4,500mAh battery, which is larger than a 4,000mAh capacity battery in Samsung’s claim. Razr 2025’s 30 -wit wired charging, which we recharge up to 68 % in 30 minutes, is slightly faster than charging 25 watts at Z Flip 7 per 7 (we will have to wait until we test how much capacity it can recharge in the same period). Both phones support 15 watt wireless charging.

Text -based advice works best with Moto A, including where the data comes from.

    Mike Sorino/CNET

    Software, Support and AI

Both clam shells are foldable Android phones, but Razr was launched with Android 15 in May 2025, and Z Flip is launched in several weeks with 7 new Android 16 (nose Samsung’s Vinai 8 software skin). Google released its latest update in June, which is a month ago, which usually launches a new Android version of the year.

Although Motorola’s phone will be upgraded, it will use the phone’s three -year large software updates (and four years of safety) – perhaps. , This means that it will be supported by 2028. Samsung, on the other hand, has promised seven years of software updates, so its device is good by 2032.

Otherwise, Samsung’s foldable company packs a set of features of the Baspock Galaxy AI, which includes removing unwanted photo bombs from images and Google circle. Whether you are useful to these AI properties or deception depends on you. Motorola’s Foldable is its Moto AI assistant to answer questions or manage data, though if you prefer you can also ask for Google’s Gemini assistant.
