According to an information exchange agreement seen by the wired, immigration and customs enforcement personnel are accessing the personal data of about 80 80 million people on Medicide to “get information about foreigners’ identification and its location in the United States.”
The agreement, titled “Information Exchange Agreement, was signed by CMS officials on Tuesday to disclose the identity and location information of foreigners between the Centers for Medicare and Medicated Services and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).”
According to the agreement, ICE officials will find login certificates for a centers containing sensitive medical information for Medicare and Medicated Services (CMS) database, including detailed records about diagnosis and procedures. In the agreement, the language says it will provide access to personal information such as home addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, banking data, and social security numbers. (Later in the agreement, the item is allowed to be allowed, which describes only the “medical recipients” and their gender, race, and race, but any mention of IP or banking data is to be given.) The contract has been finalized for the past two months. Although this document has a date on July 9, it is only effective when both sides sign it, which will identify a 60 -day period from July 15 to September 15.
The move came when President Donald Trump’s administration continues to expand its crackdown on immigration. According to the ICE, the administration aims to deport 3,000 people daily. His plans to do so include evacuating data from the entire government. The Wired had previously said that the so -called Department of Government Performance (DOGE) and DHS are working on a master database, and is pulling data from DHS and other agencies to survey and deport migrants.
Medicated, state and federally fundamental health care covers are available to the poorest people in the country, mostly for some non -citizens, including refugees and asylum seekers, human trafficking people, and permanent residents. Some states, such as New York, provide medical coverage for children and pregnant people, regardless of their immigration. Medical reports to the federal government to their medical costs and data, which pay them some costs.
“It was never considered in my five years in the DHS working on immigration enforcement,” said John Sandwig, acting director of the ICE during President Barack Obama’s administration. “You want to be careful with a potential cooling effect where people who can apply for benefits and can be eligible for the benefits – or want emergency medical care – do not do so because they are worried that the information provided at the hospital can target immigration.”
The spokesman told Wired that it was no longer a concern for the administration. Andrew Nixon, director of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Communications, told the Wired, “The CMS, under the leadership of the Oz, is offering crackdown on the states that are using the use of illegal immigrants to use the use of illegal immigrants.” “This monitoring attempt – is supported by the DHS to share intracellite data legally. It focuses on identifying waste, fraud and systemic abuse. We are not only protecting taxpayers – we are restoring the credibility of the US in the most important programs in the United States.
