- Some buyers have seen that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 demo units are not fully opening a flat in stores, which has raised concerns online.
- Other users, including our team, do not report such issues, suggest that it can be limited to specific demo units.
- The latest Samsung design design may still be in the opening limit of 178.5-181.5 degrees, but we look forward to the springs of official verification and stability.
Many buyers are reporting that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 demo unit is not fully opening a flat in retail stores. The discussion began on the Reddate (viewed by it Android Central), Where a user posted a photo showing fold 7 showing a prominent turn (see below), far away from the flat profile he expects.
The Reddate user noted, “Although the phones in the store may be subjected to a lot of abuse, considering how fewer they are available to try in the store, it makes me a bit trouble.”
Some other people have joined the thread, and claim that they have seen the same problem in retail places like Best Bay. But not everyone had the same experience, with a couple of people saying that they had not seen a problem on the demo units they had seen.
Personally, I have used two different Galaxy Z Fold 7 units since the launch, and both open completely flat. When placed on a table, there is only a visible gap equal to one, where the small occupation spreads slightly from the frame, but there is no rotation that is seen in the Redded picture. None of my colleagues have seen a screen symptom that is completely unable to open the flat.
For some contexts, when Samsung introduced his “zero gap” occupation of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, he said that the fully open angle usually comes between 178.5 and 181.5 degrees. This can still be applied to Fold 7, though we will need to confirm with the company.
Fold 7 comes with a new, slim, and light armored flakes, which, in my experience, has clearly reduced the creationing. Samsung also claims that it strengthens stability by equally dividing the tension, though we do not yet know its official stability. For comparisons, Fold 6 is ranked for more than 200,000 open/nearby cycles.
At this point, it is unclear why some retail folds 7 units are not flat. They may only be upset with overuse of the display, or they may be defective. It is also possible that those who reported the issue did not fully open the device. It does not certainly look like a wider problem at this location. If we listen, we will contact Samsung for clarification and update this article.
