Apple announced only $ 500 million in several years to buy rare Earth Magnets from MP content in the United States. These rare arthritis magnets are used in numerous products, including iPhones, MacBox and Apple Pencil Styles. To help “meet the growing global demand for content”, American -made magnets will be sent around the world.

MP Materials is the only fully integrated rare land manufacturer in the country. Both companies have also promised to work together to improve the processing facility in Texas, which has specifically developed a series of manufacturing lines for Apple products. Once expired, the factory “will support the latest manufacturing and dozens of new jobs in R&D.”

“The American innovation runs what is done in Apple, and we are proud to deepen our investment in the US economy,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. “The rare materials of the land are essential to developing advanced technology, and this partnership will help stabilize the supply of these important materials here in the United States.”

Apple and Member of Parliament will also form a team to facilitate recycling in California and promise to develop “novel magnet content and modern processing technologies” to enhance magnet performance.

This is all part of Apple’s already existing commitment to invest $ 500 billion in the next four years, which is a slight increase in 2021 compared to 30 430 billion. Adjusting for inflation, this quantity is mainly the same.

Apple began the use of recycled rare land elements mainly in consumer electronics. He started using these content in 2019, in the iPhone 11’s Tapetic Engine. The Pentagon recently became the largest shareholder of MP content, as rare land materials are also key components within a range of military weapons systems.
