I never thought I would suffer from the history of the Macentosh control panel, but an article about its design evolution has fooled me’s history. And I didn’t especially expect it to absorb myself for hours.

Frame -off priority through designer and writer Markin West, in 2003, the first flat screen detects the early history of the control panel from the original Macentosh in 1984 via IMACG4. From the design point of view, it is an informative view that now this important factor, now known as the Settings in Modern Max, is more complicated during the count. It is especially fun to see how yesterday’s interface is compared to what is coming into the interface of the Macos 26 Tau and its liquid glass.

But the more impressive to me is that every part includes a working mechanism emulator, beep and all – even the next computer, which has laid the foundation of today’s MacOS. ۔

A working 1984 Macentosh Emulator has been embedded in the article frame of priority.

(If Vicherry’s name seems familiar, he is the one who has written a large -scale multi -volume Tom about Type Writers, called Shift Prasan, the most successful kickstarter campaign for a technology book.)

Easter eggs that encourage encouragement also sprinkle. Play the missile command game. Discover how to load the premium background patterns (and notice that the page background turns into a match). Request Legendary Flying Toasters Screen Saver! Find the e -mail Steve Jobs included in the original computer.

Yes, it was one thing to blow on your toaster.

If you do not want to hunt and pack everything, click the Details button in the panel near the emulator to find out which steps have been called. This is where you can restart the computer (emulator), save a screenshot of what is on a computer screen or, if you just like to look at examples without communicating with the emulator, play an interface movie instead. Since recent models require more memory to run emulators, they are not so responsible – they are loading the entire system to your browser. There is also an option to open an emulator on unlimited Mac, hosting emulators.

Playing with the old system version can keep you over hours, but this text also contains many historical foot notes, as Jeff Raskin’s 1979 memo indicated what was to be a Macantosh project, and about the story of Andy Hresfeld that the jobs “stop”! Bill Gates and Microsoft’s other people during the initial Macentosh Demo to prevent it from disclosing important technical information.

Mac OS 8.5 is running on the initial IMAC.

If what you know was the IMAC, iPhone and iPod, the article is a great opportunity to see what your parents (and maybe grandparents) used to have a revolutionary idea when your own computer had its own computer.

And if you were present in these early days of personal computing, prepare to fall off the holy holes of Apple’s history and old memories. Go ahead, choose special> close in the Macentosh Plus of 1986 and hear this famous beep again.
