When the summer heat turns my bedroom into gold, I just try to toss and turn over the night, try to find the position that feels excellent.

I realized very little, though, this constant movement is increasing my temperature and is the only sleep position that will help reduce it.

Therefore, I have asked a sleeping expert what is the best position to pick up the standard sleep in the summer while staying cool at night during the heatwave. We will also dig deeper the effect of increasing temperatures on our sleep standards.

What is the best position for sleeping during the heatwave?

“Side sleep is often improved in hot weather as it helps your body keep cool,” says Dr. William Lou, Medical Director and sleep expert Dr. William Lo.

“Unlike waist or stomach sleep, side sleep reduces the amount of your body in contact with the mattress, which reduces high air flow and low heat. It also exposes your body in the air, which helps to escape the heat easily.”

This air flow is important to help sweat in the vapors, it is an important process that helps reduce our basic body temperature.

Dr. Lou Side also shares an interesting benefit of sleep. He says, “This position can improve breathing, which also supports better temperature regulations.”

Instead of allowing you to open your mouth when you are sleeping on your back, and then scratch, breathing from your nose ensures that your respiratory system is not under inappropriate pressure.

Can the wrong position of sleep make you warm?

“Yes, some positions of gold may make you feel much hot, including sleeping on your back or stomach,” says Dr. Lo.

But why is it? He explained, “In contact with these positions, the amount of your body increases, which traces more heat and limits the flow of air.”

“Stomach sleep can also restrict air flow around your chest and face, which makes it feel.”

If you want to go to sleep on the side but this is not your natural status, you can test the cooling side sleeper body pillow. They put pressure from your waist and knees and align the spinal cord so the side sleep feels more comfortable.

Why is it difficult to sleep in the heat?

It is no surprise that we are struggling this summer, the temperature is reaching a new height worldwide. But what does it do about our sleep?

“When it is too hot, your basic temperatures can be high, which delays the onset of sleep and reduces deep, rehabilitation stages like slow wave and Sleep sleep,”

These stages of sleep are essential to waking up and feeling mentally and physically well.

He warned that “you can wake up more often overnight, which also causes light, more scattered sleep.” “This makes you feel tired, less vigilant, and less fresh the next day.”

Sky sleeping sleep can also lead to obstacles in the Step phase, which leads to vivid dreams and nightmares.

3 Top points to sleep in heat

So, how can we prevent heat from disrupting our sleep? Dr. Lu has shared some of his important points.

    1. Cave method

Gold does not seem attractive like a cave, but it is a very simple trick that is a second nature for many people living in the hot climate.

Dr. Lou advised that “keep your bedroom more cool during the day by stopping sunlight or any extra heat.”

This means that keep your curtains, blinds, windows and doors off all day. This prevents the heat from entering and getting stuck in your home, which causes a cool bedroom, which is more conducive to standard sleep.

    2. Stay hydrate

Dr. Lo’s Top Tip? “Stay hydrate at the time of day!” He says.

Hydration is essential for our bodies to properly manage our temperature and sweat enough to cool us.

However, it comes with a warning. Dr. Lu advised that “two hours before sleeping at night to avoid the bathroom break.”

    3. Upgrade your bed

Something that has helped me maintain my sleep, regardless of how much the temperature rise is, is investing in the cool bed and the quality of the pajamas, the cooling of breathing materials.

Dr. Lo says, “Light weight and breathe like a cotton change your bed.” And it’s not just a cotton that can help.

Consider choosing moisture -powered materials like bamboo and wool. By absorbing moisture from your body, it can help you stay cool and dry overnight.
