For years, Sony has been one of the few manufacturers who can challenge the traumatic status of the smartphone market, but it has never been one of its goals. More disturbing, instead of approaching such a feat, the company is trying its best to disrupt the success of its flagships, including the recently released Experia 1 VII. Last week, Sony stopped the sale and shipment of Experia 1 VII in Japan. The reason the company has given is a number of reports of technical issues that cause people’s phones to shut down or re -operate themselves, and sometimes fail to completely turn on.

Although such news is always disturbing, when it comes to Sony, it was another drop in the outward shock. And the worst thing is that most of these hiccups appear in Sony’s own form.

Express 1 VII could have been a great flagship

Experia 1 is full of amazing features that can easily make it most frequent flagships, especially in the US market. On the one hand, Sony’s association for advanced standards is clear from the phone’s fountains. It has a 6.5 -inch 4K OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip set, and solid battery life. On the other hand, in practice, unlike everyone, Sony does not exclude any hardware element from its flagship phone. This is why Experia 1 VII is one of a few of its kind, including 3.5 mm headphones jack, microSD card slot, and front -facing stereo speakers.

Above all, Sony has considered right touching, which can make different fans more excited about the device.

The display is a creator, which provides a very accurate color, which makes the editing process more reliable. Each audio file seems interesting to be high -residential audio and LDAC support. For camera enthusiasts, there is a permanent optical zoom with a limit from 3.5x to 7.1x, and two steps camera shutter button.

Looks at itself, they are certainly a sure way to attract people’s attention and buy the phone that offers them. However, this is not the case with Xperia 1 VII.

    Frustration is real

Sony’s biggest deficiencies may be minimal, but they are very important and everything their own. Experia 1 VII has some software issues that are unacceptable on the flagship smartphone. Despite impressive camera sensors, the phone’s camera offers contradictory results, which is a software problem. Last week’s sales suspension was also caused by software problems. Experia 1 VII will only get four years OS updates and six -year security updates, compared to Pixel 9 and Galaxy S25 have promised that seven OS updates. Even more, Sony is usually very late with its software release.

None of this is such a big deal if Sony would not have released Xperia 1 VII as the most expensive smartphone in the market. The phone started at 4 1,499 in Europe for the 256GB version and 3 1,399 in the UK, which is more expensive than both the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. In the upper part of it, Sony also does not even sell Xperia 1 VII in the United States.

    It could have been different

We have been living in the era of Income Smartphone’s updates, which is nothing but interesting. Years, we are subject to shiny key notes trying to sell us new smartphone models that are primarily like their predecessors, except for some minor details.

Sony is one of the companies that seem to be able to provide something different. More importantly, people look ready and anxious to achieve this.

Last week, we asked you if you would buy Sony Xperia 1 VII if you could, and only 15 % response were negative. The price for 32 % of you is what is preventing you from jumping into the Experia train. The shocking thing is that 46 % of you say that if it was available, they would buy it.

I know this is a vote on a special website, and most people who have seen it are already Sony’s fans, so the results are sketch. However, if such a large group of fans is desperate to get the Expert flagship, if only Sony sells it at a more reasonable price, I would imagine that such a device could have a great success with a small adaptation.

First of all, Sony needs to find a way to reduce the price of his flagship. If Experia 1 VII was a bit cheaper than that Galaxy S. 25 Ultra And IPhone 16 Pro MaxSome of his matters could be easily ignored. Sony should not be impossible, considering that the phone has been released in a bundle with € 299 headphones. Second, Sony will have to go back to the US market and sell his phones globally. Losing the world’s largest market is a mistake, but to succeed for any company’s global presence.

This can help the company implement the Motorola’s measures instead of LG. The former is growing great and growing around the world, while the latter left the mobile market despite making a great phone. Hopefully, Sony has a distant turmoil to turn things and be ready to pay for his fans.
