If Apple is the way, you are about to interfere with your iPhone on your iPhone by less unwanted calls. And thanks to a major change in iOS 26.
The new version of Apple’s iPhone software adds to the form of a new call screening tool in the phone app. With call screening, phone calls from unknown numbers are stopped before your phone is business, and only then they will identify themselves whether you have to decide whether to call or bounce it on the voicemail.
If it seems familiar, this is because it is a device available on other phones, especially Google’s Pixel Devices. But iPhone users may not be careful, the screening work should be called, as is advertised in keeping the rockers, spammers and other potential obstacles in the Gulf.

Call screening is already available in iOS 26 developer beta, which means it will be part of a public son who will arrive at some time this month. Like all the excellent features, the call screening works in the background, though you have to make it first. Take a look at how to do it and what to expect once you do.
Sorting call screening in iOS 26
First, some good news about call screening – he should work on any phone that is able to run iOS 26. This is not a feature that is linked to Apple Intelligence, so even more older iPhones should take advantage of its arrival. I’m only using the call screening on the iPhone 15 Pro, but I have seen settings to enable the iOS 26 developer beta -installed other devices.
That said, there are some restrictions to call the screening, but they are completely language -based. According to Apple, the call screening will work with English as well as Kentony, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish.
I mentioned a setting to enable the call screening. Where to find it.
1. Go to the phone app settings

Launch the setting appScroll down the screen and Tap the apps. On the incoming screen, Select the phone From the list of apps installed on your device.
2. Screen up on incoming calls

Find the phone app settings screen and screen upcoming calls section and Slide the toggle to turn on the feature. Once you do this, an unknown number of calls will be asked to provide more information about their name and why they are calling before your iPhone ring.
And at the same time, the call screening feature in iOS 26 next time an unknown caller tries to reach you, he should be ready to put it into practice.
How does call screening work in iOS 26
I am testing call screening with a few Tom guide colleagues who have called me from phone numbers that are already not in my contact app. So far I have been impressed with what I have seen.

When an unknown caller initially calls, I don’t listen to anything. If I want to closely look at the dynamic island area of my iPhone screen, I can see an icon that shows it that the call is coming, but it will not ring any disturbing rings – at least immediately. That is.
What is happening at this location is that the call screening feature is removing the call from me. According to my colleague John Velasco, when he tried to call him, he was welcomed by a quick message that he asked to identify himself. And when he does, when I find out about the call.

On my iPhone 15 Pro, a notification was popped through a dynamic island in which the caller’s name, his number and a brief copy of what he recorded. From there, I can press the green button to take a call or a red button that sends the call to the voice mail.
In this regard, the call screening feels like an extension of the voice mail feature that Apple introduced in iOS 17. The difference is that the feature you need to tap a button directly on the sound mail before you show a direct copy of their recording. Call screening kick automatically.
Call screening questions

What will be the actual test test of the call screening when I stop using iOS 26 on the test device and start using it with my regular phone. Because the phone number on this device is apparently landed at the well -known universal and the spammer’s radar.
At least two to three times a day, my phone rings, and if I pick up, there is a pre -arranged voice that tells me that I am pre -approved for a loan or can get rid of taxes or that I have something good .There is good. I wait for me to wait. Right now, I just send a reflexed unknown caller on the voice mail, but that means I have to tap my phone screen to do so and then delete spam messages later.
What I am interested in seeing is that if call screening prevents any of these messages from reaching me. In other words, when the feature indicates to the caller to leave the message and there is already a predetermined spell that has all kinds of spamie nonsense, will the call screening be intelligent enough or is I just getting information about the upcoming call?
My guess is later, unfortunately, but I will still count it as a mark if the call is at least default to screening without my joining.
From new shape to new apps, there is a lot to be very passionate with iOS 26, from iOS 26. But I have to confess, the possibility of a world of low spam calls breaking my concentration will make this upgrade as it itself.
