- Garman has released an official Google map for his smart watch that offers turn by -turn navigation when connecting your Smart Watch to Android Phone.
- The app can show the next three turns and inform users of the next turn with soft vibration.
- The app is compatible with more than 90 Garman Smart Watch Model and is available for free at the Connect IQ store.
Garman users have long have had to rely on third -party apps like the Maps Navy to get a turn by -turn navigation from Google Maps on their smart watches. This work is no longer necessary, because eventually there is an official solution.
Garman’s connect IQ store now offers the Google Maps app, compatible with a wide range of Garman Smart Watch, which includes numerous venue, advance, vivitative, and Phoenix models. Unlike the Google Maps app to wear, Garman’s Google Maps app offers limited functionality, when you offer the basic navigation navigation after setting your destination on your attached Android phone.
Garman says the app can show the next three turns with a tap, which can eliminate the need to remove your phone for instructions. Avoiding disturbances also has a slow vibration to inform you about the next turn. The company also says that when you are using Google Maps for navigation, your smart watch will continue to record your walking, running or biking data, and you can compatible with other health and fitness apps through health connect to the Garman.
The Google Maps app currently works only with Android phones, and yet there is no official word on iOS compatibility. If you want to try it, you can download it free from the Connect IQ store. The app supports more than 90 Garman Smart Watch models, and you can check the list of compatible devices in the listing to find out if your smart watch is included.
