Visual Intelligence has proved to be one of the better additions to Apple Intelligence, which has turned your iPhone’s camera lens into a search tool. And in iOS 26, this feature gives new abilities that promise to make visual intelligence even more useful.
Apple’s Google Lens is a temptation to reject visual intelligence as a knock -off, but it indicates things that bring AI -powered capabilities to the table. In the current repetition, you can use a camera control button on the iPhone 16 models or a control center shortcut on the iPhone 15 Pro so that the camera can be launched and photographed everything that is interested. From there, you can run an icon online search, Apple Intelligence’s chat GPT Tye can get more information through them or even create admission to the calendar when you do some photography with dates and times.
iOS 26 extends these abilities to screen searches. You all have to take a screenshot, and the same visual intelligence command you use with your iPhone camera appears with the screenshot, facilitating the creation of searches or admission to the calendar.

The current version of Visual Intelligence also applies to the latest version of iOS 26 – you will need an iPhone to support Apple Intelligence to use this device. But if you have a compatible phone, you will have new search capabilities that are just a screenshot away.
What will you see when you try the latest visual intelligence, even if you have downloaded iOS 26 developer son or if you are waiting until the public son arrives to test the latest iPhone software this month.
What is new in visual intelligence in iOS 26
You can still use your iPhone camera to find things with visual intelligence at iOS 26. But the software update extends these features to screen images and information obtained through screenshots.
Take a screenshot of whatever interest you are on on your iPhone screen – as you know, it means that simultaneously press the power button and the volume of the above volume – and the screenshot will appear as usual. You can save it as a regular screenshot by tapping the checkmark button in the upper right corner and saving the image in a picture, files or quick note. Tools tools to share and mark the screenshot next to this checkmark are tools.

But you will also see some other orders at the bottom of the screen. These are new features of visual intelligence. From left to right, you ask your options, add the calendar and photo search.

Ask taps at the Chattagat’s academic base to ask for more information about what is on your screen. There is also a search field where you can enter a particular question. For example, I took a screenshot of the ESPN homepage that presented a photo of a hotdest food competition, which takes place on July fourth and asks to find out who won the competition more times.

Add to the calendar from your iPhone screen, drag the time and date information and automatically prepare yourself for the iOS calendar app that you can edit before savings. (And one good thing, because visual intelligence does not always get things right. I will discuss it a little.) With the increase in the calendar feature, I can find the UEFA women’s European Championship system schedule and prevent these matches on my calendar.

Image search is very straightforward. Tap this command, and AI will launch Google Search for whatever image you have in your screenshot. In my case, it happens that if I get more money and old memories than I feel, it is an old tipper arcade game console.
Searches for the visual intelligence that I have referred to above is using the entire screen, but you want to find the specific item you want to find the use of your finger – as you can find with the Circle that is now currently on Android devices. I highlighted the headline of a Spanish newspaper and could be translated English. Yes, visual intelligence can also translate the language into screenshots, just like, when you use your camera as a translation device.
iOS 26 visual intelligence feedback

It is important to remember that the new tools of visual intelligence are in the beta phase, just like the rest of iOS 26. So you may enter some hiccups when using this feature.
For example, the first time I tried to create a calendar entry for women’s euro championship, visual intelligence tried to make entry for the present day instead.
When this happens, use the thumb up/thumbs to the liberals of the icons that Apple uses to train its AI tools. I tapped the thumbs, the selected date is the wrong option from the list provided on the screen and sent it to Apple. I do not know that my comments had an immediate effect, but the next time I tried to create a calendar event, history was automatically prepared.
You can capture screenshots of your visual intelligence results, but it is not immediately intuitive how to save these screens. Once you take your screenshot, swipe left to see a new shot, and then tap the checkmark in the upper corner to save everything. This is something I believe I will make a habit over time, but after years of taking screenshots, it feels a bit nasty that automatically save the photo app.
However, this is a worthwhile effort. As helpful the visual intelligence properties have been, remembering your camera to access them is not the most natural thing to do. It is more quick to get a screenshot, however, literally keep the visual intelligence abilities on your finger.
