- YouTube is developing a leak -based feature that allows vertical shorts videos to play in the familiarity of landscapes.
- The rotating shorts option changes the UI elements to see the sideway but shrinks the video so much.
- This feature is aimed at potentially for users with motor malfunctions or specific setups such as mounted landscape mode equipment.
Through design, YouTube shorts, such as Instagram Rails and Tacotok Videos, are all vertical videos. They mean to be eaten with your phone in a portrait format, fill the whole screen, and designed you to swipe and see more. The purpose of the shorts is not to be used in the landscape, but YouTube is now bringing this option as a tragic feature to its mobile app.
An option for Rotate the shorts Under YouTube is shown on my Pixel 9 Pro XL Settings> Leak. When I enabled it, I noticed that if I rotate my phone in the state of landscape and I have an auto -bread for my entire phone, the shorts will turn into a new landscape and down into a scrub bar with the control of the right side. The video itself, because it has been shot in the portrait, looks so small and so unprofessional to see the modern phone display, especially with tight ~ 20: 9 display ratio. Seeing such shorts feels as meaningless as watching the phone’s YouTube videos while straightening the phone.

When I disabled the layout, the shorts remained in portrait mode. Auto Rotet did not affect them, and even if the auto rotat was off, I did not find the Force Rotten button, which allows me to turn my display into a landscape moment.
Due to the clear matching between screen estate poor use and display acquaintance and video acquaintance, my Android Authority Compatriots and I tried to wonder why this option would be present. The only explanation with which we come out is that it has been billed as a leakage feature, so it is not intended for most consumers. Perhaps the motorists with disabilities who cannot keep their phone will be helpful. Perhaps it works for people who mount their phones to watch videos in the landscape and do not want or do not want them to turn it. Before the existence of this setting, these users should start playing a short and realize that the familiarity was settled and the only way to see it was to turn along your head.

I also thought that this option would be excellent Perfect of the pills and foldable, but it shows that Google has already fixed the issue on these devices, without any order. A few years ago, the shorts used to play only in portrait orientation, even if you had your pill in the landscape, but now they offer a landscape UI that is running on the phone. And that the UI is already activated when you are holding the tablet horizontally – the sequence does not need to be enabled.
If you want to try it, make sure to update the latest version of the YouTube app, though this is not guaranteed. Google server looks like this as a side update. It is straight to me V20.26.31 and above. Just make sure you do not check it on the bed as I did with the auto rotate active, as the shorts will continue to flop between portraits and landscapes.
