About the iPhone 17 has been flowing for more than a year. We have seen reports of a new selfie camera, sharp megassaf charging and a new purple (or green) color. We have even heard rumors that Apple can change how often to launch a new iPhone model twice a year.
But when the iPhone 16 debuted, his screen was criticized. The phone starts at 29 829 and still has 60 herts display, yet most of the rival phones, which top high refresh rate screens, are topped in 90 hits or 120 hits, which gives a smooth scroll effect that only appears to be the premium. Given that the programs have been high in the rates of screen refresh for years, it is disappointing to see that Apple has not been brought to the lower end models.
At a time when Apple is under pressure from the US Department of Justice’s Anti -Trust case. Apple intelligence is facing criticism from shareholders and media about being “behind in the AI race”. And if President Donald Trump does not move to the United States after dealing with threats to include tariffs to the iPhone, the company’s next iPhone launch will be an important moment.
The burden on Apple is to provide an exciting iPhone 17 lineup that includes major changes to iPhone Pro models as well as a new version of iPhone Air. But the “regular” base iPhone is for some TLC, especially its display. Fortunately, three rumors circulate that come with a large update to the iPhone 17 screen. Together, they suggest that the screen on the iPhone 17 may be one of the biggest updates of the base iPhone display in a long time.
Apple has not yet announced anything or confirmed any of these rumors. And we will not know what the next iPhone is officially released. See more leak, CNET’s iPhone 17 rumors roundup.
6.3 -inch display of iPhone 17
The iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3 -inch display.
There is a 6.1 -inch screen of the regular iPhone from the iPhone 12. The iPhone 16 has a 6.3 -inch display despite the iPhone 16. According to a post on supply chain analyst Ross Ying X, the iPhone 17 will get a similar 6.3 -inch display. This is bad news for small phone fans, though 6.1 inches already was out of the 6.4 -inch screen found on the iPhone 12 mini and 13 mini.
If the growing screen comes from shrinking bells around the real estate display, as Apple did with the iPhone 16 Pro, it should mean that the iPhone 17 itself will be the same as the iPhone 16.
High Refresh Rate Display of iPhone 17 (120 Hearts)
Roger had a phone screen that was ideal for gaming and ends today most phrics on phones.
In 2018, Roger Phone first debuted with a high refresh rate display. Other phones at that time closed the screens at a stable 60 hez. The purpose of the razor phone was gamers, and keeping the screen with a high refresh rate looks more and more utter. It also created unrelated things, such as the system of dynamic images or a social or news feed, looks smooth and dynamic.
In 2025, almost every major phone, including cheap, costs less than $ 300, has 90 hits or 120 hits screen – well, in addition to the iPhone. Apple first added the Pro Motion Display in 2021 (its name for a high refresh rate screen), the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 in Pro Max. But non -pro models have a stable 60Hz display to date. It should change soon.
According to a 9TO5MAC report, the iPhone 17 will have a high refresh rate screen. The story refers to an X -post of Young, which has been removed since. It is unclear whether the screen will be similar to the iPhone 16 Pro or if it will be different. But if the iPhone 17 gets the LTPO screen with adaptive refresh rate (with 1 to 120Hz), it may also mean that “regular” base iPhone 17 will always help display. The latter feature debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, and absent from base iPhone 15 and iPhone 16.
New Ceramic Shield of iPhone 17
After seven months of use, both photos were taken. The scratch on the iPhone 15 Pro Max (left) really appears on the display. There are some scratches in the iPhone 16 Pro, but it has performed very well.
One of the sleeper additions in the iPhone 16 Pro was that it got a latest ceramic shield (not 16 and 16 plus). Just as a reminder, the ceramic shield is not just in the glass that contains the nano -ceramic crystal embedded in the glass matrix. In my long -term review for 16 Pro, I noticed that the latest ceramic shield was not hidden nearly after seven months of use, especially compared to my iPhone 15 Pro Max, which had the original version of the ceramic shield and was covered in scratches after that time.
According to a post by the Webo user Instant Digital, the iPhone 17 can find more scratch resistant display. It seems that this can be different from the ceramic shield, which may also contain anti -filtractive coating, which is like the Galaxy S25 ultra. McMourz first reported the rumor and made it also hedge, saying that the new coating had been removed because it proved to be very complicated to apply on a scale.
I suspect the iPhone 17 will get an anti -filcrative screen, but I would like if that happens. I still hope, though, its screen comes with a more durable display.
