These days the gaming keyboards are present everywhere, and with the abundance of the options available, it is not difficult to find anything. They can also be expensive, so it can be difficult to know if the investment is worth the money. Keeping this in mind I joined the new Wilkin II mini happened From the turtle beach. I have some ideas.
Turtle Beach bought the company behind these boards, which many years ago, stopped, but it only began to end this branding in May 2024. So you can still find rocket branding on Wilkan II mini air (you can see it here on my review sample) if you buy one in the near future.

First things, size. The 65 % size setting is my perfect setup because it still contains arrow keys. True FPS concerts can prefer 60 % design, but I mix my species, and I am also a writer in my work life, so I prefer to have arrow keys (and home/end keys – do you not dare to remove these people from me). I do not miss much media keys or keys to functions, but it is definitely a source.
Wilkan II selects an optical switch on more traditional mechanical switches. At risk of normalizing, optical and mechanical switches are basically different about how they register each key process. Mechanical switches use physical contact between two metal plates while optical switch use light beams to detect activation.
I didn’t use optical switches before testing the Wilkan II mini but I could see their appeal for their cutter gamers. The idea is that light -powered sensors allow the key to the low -acting points of key presses, meaning that when your finger moves to press the key and is registered through your computer between the key press.
Turtle Beach says his red linear switches is 1.4 mm, which is mostly a decent improvement compared to 2 mm of mechanical switches. He said, “If you are a tough game, if you need to give priority to every hundred seconds, you will probably see only a short process theory.” Personally, I could not make any difference with my central keyboard with cherry mechanical switches.
Another major advantage of optical is in conjunction with the Hall Impact Switches, as is in keyboards like Walkin II TKL Pro. Since the sensors are activated through light and there are no physical contact between the two plates, there is less friction with each capery. So the switch should last long. Most traditional mechanical switches are classified for about 100 million presses. They are ranked in 200 million. This is a very important advantage if you do not have a tendency to upgrade your keyboard.
In fact, it took me a while to get used to the feeling of optical switches. They are in no way proud, but they are more soft than the traditional switch I have a habit. Thankfully, they are more superstar than hall effect switches. After a few hours, though, I can’t feel much difference between the feeling of Wilkan II and my regular keyboard.
The quality of the construction of the II mini is advanced. The aluminum top plate gives it a good solid feeling that with no misconduct or find out that I can find anywhere. At 578 grams, it is not too heavy. The added looted cable is also well designed. It is good that it is available in white, though I am surprised to know how clean it will be. Two position kick stands allow some good aergonomic options.
Customization is an area where the turtle’s beach level increases slightly. Through the crowd app, you have access to many common customs for gaming keyboards. But turtle beach also added a secondary function to 29 keys, so you can quickly mobilize another action. These smart keys are also equipped with dual LEDs, which will indicate when the secondary function is active. In the upper part, you can store five different profiles, so you can set the best setting for your favorite games.
No self -esteem gaming keyboard prevents you from customizing RGB lighting on your heart content. So of course you can choose from the different effects of light. This contains the AIMO effect, which combines all the accessories of your turtle beach together so the effects of light are integrated.
Battery life
As a wireless keyboard, battery life is important. Turtle Beach says that Wilkan II mini can rotate without RBG lighting active, without continuous use of 240 hours, which is a bold claim. I have not used the keyboard specifically for the Four for about four weeks, but despite heavy use, I still have not been able to kill it, and it’s still with RGB lights. That’s enough to say, the battery life has been amazing for me.
To fulfill this, a tricky batch uses the keyboard a sensor of proximity that automatically detects your presence to turn on and off the lights. Logotek does something similar in some of his keyboards, so it is not revolutionary, but the turtle batch allows you to adjust the sensor’s sensitivity to some extent. At least, this is the theory. When I changed it, I could not get a crowd app to save its settings, so I can’t talk to how effective it is.
As the “air” name can suggest, this version of the Wilkin II mini is wireless (There is a wired option for $ 119) It can connect four devices: 2.4GHz wireless dongle included in one plus three through Bluetooth. When I was connected through Bluetooth, I only found a negative aspect that I could never get to appear in the crowded crowd app. It was shown right when using Dongal, but not on Bluetooth.
What did I like about Wilkin II mini air between turtles
Like optical switches, cool, typing experience was not very good. I am a writer in the day, so I always prefer a excellent typing experience and the second is good gaming. Even after using the semen specially for more than three weeks, I couldn’t like typing relief as my cucumber is like Q81 Pro. I am ready to admit that most of this can be attributed to the low profile design of II mini, which I have never found as comfortable as the entire size profile.
The Week time for Wilkan II mini air is significantly slower than many other keyboards I used. I am not sure whether this proximity is due to a sensor or something else, but sometimes it takes up to 10 seconds to start registering a key press with my computer.
Should you buy a turtle in the turtle but Ii mini -air?
Overall, it is an excellent keyboard that has a lot of good features in search of serious gaming keyboard. Small size means that it does not take much space on this desk, the optical switch provides faster response times and more stability, and the customization options are almost endless. For me, though, I struggled to use it as a daily keyboard because it didn’t just offer me the discomfort and noticed that I prefer, but if you want to upgrade your gaming keyboard, or the first time the gaming keyboards are sinking in the world of gaming keyboards.
Wilkan II mini -air is a 65 % gaming keyboard with optical switches. The immediate response to the keys and granular customs is the time to upgrade its keyboard. It may have some habit, and there may be some compromises, but overall it is a good purchase.
