In just half the decades, when the first foldable phones started hitting the market, this segment has gained a lot of crowds and competitiveness. Compared to candy bar phones, relatively new pinch of category, innovation leaves the ROOM and ways to add it more acceptable and mainstream. In this pursuit, Honor has announced its latest book -style folding phone, Magic V5, with a claim from the title “The World’s Thin Foldable”.
The previous champion in this regard was Oppo Find N5, when closed at 8.9 mm. The honor snatches the merit by claiming that when the magic V5 measures only 8.8 mm. We, as a mere human being, will not be able to say which of these two is thin, but it does not rotate with Honor’s claim.
When it is opened, the magic V5 is thin 4.1 mm, which is very small again, the sophisticated N5. Accidentally, the dimensions of the V5 also prove its claim against the next Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is expected to be 8.9 mm and 4.2 mm, respectively, when the joints and opening respectively. Of course, this may change when Samsung will formally launch foldable phones next week.
The phone comes in four colors: Don Gold, Silk Road Danhong, Velvet Black, and warm white, of which the last weighs from the minimum weight. In addition to this white, weighs 217 grams, measuring 222g on a second scale.
Despite its slimy, the foldable properties of the Honor feature slightly smaller internal and external display than Oppo and Samsung counterparts. The inner screen has a measure of 7.95 inches (8.12 inches vs. on the N5), while the external display measures 6.43 inches. Both are 120 Hz Refresh Rate Ods. Honor says these displays get top glow of 5,000 nuts while HDR runs the content and supports high pulse view modulation (PWM) frequency to ensure that your eyes feel less pressure when using the phone in low light.
The Honor Magic V5 is also well stored in terms of clarification, which is running Snapdragon 8 Elite chip set, which is met by the self -designed E2 chip for better energy efficiency. There are storage options up to Terabite, while 12GB and 16GB of Ram are offered on the basis of storage configuration. The strength of the Honor Magic V5 is a 6,100mAh battery, which can be recovered at 66W using a wired charger and with a proprietary wireless charger at 50W.
In the back section, triple cameras include two 50MP sensors for primary and ultra -wild angle shooters and 64MP parasope telephoto for long -range shots. Both screens bring 20MP cameras for selfies and video calling. All of these cameras support 4K video recording, including people in front.
The Magic V5 comes with Android 15 and Honor’s Magkos 9, which features many generative AI features driven by Deep Sak.
One aspect where Honor Magic V5 loses to rivals is its availability, which is currently limited to China. Considering the previous foldable, Magic V3, more widely available in parts of Asia and Europe, we can expect the V5 likewise. The Magic V3 was unveiled at the IFA Trade Show in Berlin last year, where we can watch the V5 film this year.
Magic V5 pricing starts at CNY 8,999 or about $ 1,250, though it cannot be used as a parameter to assess prices for international markets, where Chinese products are usually more expensive than direct conversion.
