Honor launches ‘the world’s thin’ foldable

Honor has announced the magic V5, which says that the world’s thin foldable phone is still the phone – though only if you ignore the raised camera module, and only for the white version. The phone has been launched in China today, but Honor says an international release is “coming soon”.

When 8.8 mm thick is closed, the V5 is really impressive, and the Oppo Find of 8.9 mm defeats the N5. This 0.1 mm difference is practically unimaginable, though a very modest rotation phone helps to make the phone thinner than the OPPO. This is just true for the “Ivory White” version of the phone, though other colors are very thick at 9 mm, as their fiber and wagon leather complement is different from the “special fiber” of the white model.

Perhaps more clearly, you have to completely ignore the camera. The Magic V5 triple rear camera module is almost twice than Oppo, resulting in the phone as a whole. High resolution sensors and high speed aperture, almost in the board, can justify extra hefty, but it reduces the “world’s thinner” claim.

When open, the V5 frame measures 4.1 mm, once again defeating Oppo’s 4.2 mm. It is worth remembering that none of these phones are thin like a Huawei trifled Mate XT when it is open, when it falls to 3.6 mm at its thin point, a class that does not have a USB-C port.

This millimeter war is not a new area for honor. Earlier this year, Opo, before launching the Find N5, was the most thin fold in the market of Honor’s magic V3. Next week, Samsung is expected to disclose a great thin Galaxy Z Fold 7, though it is likely to be a bit thick with honor efforts. Honor is not highlighting it, but the magic V5 can also be the lightest foldable in the world, or at least shares the title with Vivo’s X -Fold 5, which was announced last week – both weigh 217g.

If all these sounds are here to rotate on a gram and a mm of sounds like this, this is the reason. I said when I reviewed the N5 to the OPPO that it would “start a decrease return” for foldable phones, and we are here. Without leaving the USB-C port or adopting a proportional design, there is no room for these phones to be meaningful, so foldable manufacturers have to find a new way to create hype for future launches.

Fortunately for honor, the magic V5 has a considerable speaker to impress regardless. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Phone strengthens the phone with 16GB up to 16 GB and a large 5,820mAh battery. Both screens use 120Hz LTPO OLED panels, there is wireless charging, and the IP58 and IP59 rating, which is almost as good as almost as almost is almost as good as any foldable.

Update, July 2: It was confirmed that non -white models were removed in different materials.
