- Google updated Pixel 4A earlier this year for battery management concerns.
- We recently planned a similar approach for battery failures at Pixel 6A.
- Google now shares its full Pixel 6A strategy on July 8 with its updates.
Google faces battery problem with pixel phones. Earlier this year, we learned about the Google plan to issue a new update for the elderly Pixel 4A, but instead of giving the phone a fresh version of Android, it was about trying to reduce the problems caused by the phone battery during the update charging, affecting the battery life or even making fire. Then just a few weeks ago we saw evidence in Android 16, suggesting that Google Pixel was planning a similar refreshment for 6A. Google ended the strategy, and today we begin to find all the details on how this “fix” is ending.
Just as before Pixel 4A, Google has posted a battery performance program support page for Pixel 6A today. There, the company has revealed that it plans to release ” Mandatory automatic Software update to Android 16. “The release will begin to go to Pixel 6A phones, starting July 8.
Don’t like the voice of the mandatory update and already getting ready to flash your Pixel 6A with different releases? No bad idea, but also smart of Google, and even today before droid life Google saw the Pixel 6A firm ware images deleting their public secured documents:
Well, so if it’s happening, like or not, what does it mean for you and your Pixel 6A phone? Basically, Google has identified a class called “affected devices”, which contains something, but not all, Pixel 6A contains hardware. The company does not go into any great detail, explaining that an affected device that is not particularly different from that, but probably. We’re talking about battery or charge management hardware.
If your Pixel 6A is not one of these affected devices, you don’t have to worry about it – you will find this mandatory update, of course, but your phone will be right to work as usual.
If this is an affected device, though, then the second factor comes into the game: Once your handset is completed, a new battery management system will be implemented, which will limit your charge and eventually reduce the battery life. We have already seen to implement this code to implement it.
Once a fresh battery is installed in your Pixel 6A, you will once again be able to charge it on its full, rating capacity. Everyone was told, none of the great, and it looks like a headache that no pixel 6A owners are really deserved, but we can at least appreciate that Google is trying to move beyond it after the defeat of the entire Pixel 4A, and hopefully prevent more fires before they have become.
