Threads have officially launched a direct messaging for everyone. Now you can privately send a message to other users on the Meta -owned X competitor, though threads only allow DMS to start on Instagram between your followers or mutual followers.

You can send DM to threads by selecting envelope icon in the toolbar below your screen in the app. From there, you will be instructed in your inbox, where you can tap the pencil button in the top right corner to start composing the message.

Threads DMs are currently available for users on Android, iOS, and the web of 18 years and older, but now you can only have one -on -one conversation. Moving forward, the ability to choose threads is to make you send messages to you, including those who do not follow you on your threads and Instagram. You will also be able to review a folder dedicated to the message requests, as is presented on the X. Threads are also working on group messaging feature and inbox filters.

Although the platform says its DMS “is protected from our strong privacy standards, account concerns and safety infrastructure,” threads spokeswoman Elike Bakker confirmed. Stuffy “Thread will not support encryption from end to end for messaging.” Bakr added that Meta “will continue to produce DMS on threads based on community impressions.”

Threads started examining the DM in June.

Along with the DMS, threads announced a new “high -lighter” feature that would “focus on the individual approach that would lead to a dialogue.” Now you will only see the material featured in some parts of the app where you get a new content – as you eat for you. Threads plan to bring their highlighted features to more areas of the app soon.
