A few years ago, when smartphones began to advance the size of the 7 -inch screen, we thought that had been done for small bullets. And they slowly removed, leaving the scene open to their big 10 inches and above relatives.

Now we are looking at the Red Magic Astra and can’t help but surprisingly, is there really a place for all 10 inch tablets in the market, and especially for the gaming tablet? Because this is the Austra-an 9-inch gaming tablet that has some interesting tech inside and cool shape.

With about $ 500 (499 euros in Europe), this device is quite attractive and actually aims to challenge the member mini that holds the same price and its size is very similar. But at the end of the day, it is a dedicated gaming device, and we should not forget it.

Let’s make a deep dive and find the Red Magic Austra gaming tablet and out.

The retail box is not as excited as we talk about Red Magic devices. Generally, you will also find additional accessories inside charging bricks, some kind of cover or case, and sometimes additional accessories.

In this case, though, you are getting a bullet, some stickers and a USB-C cable, and just. It’s a bit disappointing, especially looking at the gaming nature of this animal, but that’s what it is. Let’s go to the screen, what kind of modest retail box is released.

The Austrian comes with a 9.06 -inch OLED panel that can refresh 165 Hz (mainly during gaming) and has 1600 nits peak brightness (1100 nets common). It is not uncommon to see OLED screens on tablets nowadays, but some, if not most, still use the LCD panel to keep the cost low. The resolution is 2.5K (2,400 x 1,504 pixels), which is equivalent to the density of 312 ppi pixels on this screen, great for 9 inches. The Red Megak also claims that the DCI-P3 color gamite is covered with the exact color accuracy of the δE <1 in the display of the Austra, and we are about to test all these claims.

Given the results of the aforementioned tests, most of the claims are true. The Austra 100 APL managed to outpit out more than 1000 nets (and in the same number in 20 % APL, which leads us to the conclusion that it is limited at this doorstep), and it is great.

Under the Delta of Under 1, the apparently measured on the surface and settings we use in our tests, but nevertheless, the result of 1.34 is impressive for the tablet and the gaming device. The least brightness is a bit high, so at night gaming sessions may require some acne light, but all, the Austra display is very impressive.

Now, in terms of biometrics, the power button doubles as a capacity fingerprint scanner, and you can also configure facial identities. The latter relys on just a simple front -facing camera, so it is not so safe, such as other systems that employ TOF sensors and 3D facial scans.

    Redmagic Astra Performance and Benchmark

    Super Ting Snapdragon 8 Elite

When it comes to high intensity applications nowadays, Snapdragon 8 is a silicon to Elite, and gaming is certainly a scenario. The Redmagical Auster comes with a regular version of the chip (no overdose for the Performance Core), but the Adreno 830 GPU has been rotated to reach 1,100 MW (Snapdragon 8 elite’s leading version of the graphics performance of the Red Magic 10).

If you set the Austra to 165 Hz and leave it in high performance mode, your daily experience outside gaming will be amazingly smooth. It makes the table warm and adds to the cooling fan, but the performance is there. Let’s check the artificial benchmark for some data -driven evidence.

    CPU Performance Benchmark:

    GPU’s performance

Benchmarks tell a beautiful convincing story. The RedMajmic Auster only eliminates the tablet competition, and only the iPad Money is included with its excellent only performance. When it comes to graphics, although, Austra and its Overclass Adreno 830 core are unbeaten.

Of course, the active cooling system with a small fan operating on 20,000 RPMs has to do something with a 3D mark score of 3D mark scores as well as liquid metal 2.0 materials and fever chamber design.

This machine can have a genes on 165 herts and maximum graphics without any hassle, but it has more in the software section. Finally, there are three memory configurations to choose. The primary One has 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage, then there is a 16GB version that comes with memory on 512GB ship, and you can go to the all -out and get 1 TB model, with 24 GB RAM boarding on the ship (a little overback, but extremely future proof).

One thing we remember by the hardware is Capsito triggers or shoulder buttons. There is no one in the Red Magic Auster, which is really a shame. The RedMajg 10 SS Pro has two of these properties that have a high touch sample rate, but the Austra has to rely on screen input all the time.

    Redmagic Astra Software

Astra gaming pills run With Android 15 with Red Magic OS 10.5. It is a straightforward distribution with minimal adaptation and blotchware and the spraying of AI above. Nothing ground, just some AI translation options, with the choice of intuitive application for most of your used apps.

But the play is the crown ornament of the game, especially the software tools and gaming tools. You can trigger the mood with the Red Slider button, and it takes you to a dedicated gaming space (as the name showed).

You have full control over many aspects of the hardware and software of Austra. You can choose the CPU and GPU -using mode, adding software helper tools such as cross -hairs, quake prices, and control notifications. Add hardware circle such as mouse and keyboard. And more.

This is done in a very intuitive way. You can either choose from different performance presets or choose deep and self -intended parameters. We have decided to use the Gaming Test L, as it is one of the heaviest and resource -related mobile games there.

Astra handled the game flawlessly – we decide everything, and the game goes easily with no interval or a frame rate. Being fair, the bullet became a bit hot during the game, and fans can be heard, but our ears or hands are not more unpleasant.

    RedMajg Astra Audio Quality

There are only two speakers on both sides of the Red Magic Auster, but they are quite powerful and high. Tablet supports DTS: X Ultra and various audio formats, including Wow, AAC, MP3, and Flak. It has a 3.5 mm headphones jack, which is an error if you want to play in public and don’t bother everyone, but of course you can connect Bluetooth headphones and use them to isolate the sound around your or her or vice versa.

The hippoc motor inside the Austra is strong and powerful, as well as precise. This is a key thing when we talk about gaming devices and contribute a bit in the overall experience.

    RedMajgs Astra battery and charging

The battery within the Red Magic Austra has a capacity of 8,200 mA, which is quite decent considering the small maps of the tablet. The company ads a 5.5 -hour gaming battery life in Hanki: video playback for up to 33 hours along with star rail.

Let’s see how the tablet dealt with our battery test.

    Battle Battery Test results:

Well, in the case of gaming, we managed to get a similar result for about 5 hours and 10 minutes. And when it stands compared to other, non -gaming devices, we think it’s a good result of more competitive gaming.

The results of browsing and video streaming are not very impressive, especially after other tablets (with some small batteries), but the performance comes at a price, and the Austra is not made for performance only.

In the case of charging, the tablet supports sharp charging, and we managed to complete the 8,200 mA cell from zero to 1 hour and 12 minutes, which is a decent result. There is no wireless charging coil on the ship, and thus, there is no wireless charging support.

When we test pills and gaming devices, we are routine warning, especially, also applied here. The Austra is equipped with a beautiful minor camera system.

The spirits of these two cameras will not jump to your seat, and they are there to perform the work in a very basic sense. To be fair, some AI processing continues in the background, and the results are very flexible, so to talk, but nothing is surprising.

    Image standard

Well, you can check the above samples. You have the option to use the digital zoom-2 X and 5X-and when the 2x samples are fine, when 5x digital goes, the noise becomes high, and overall detail and quality fall down slightly.

    Do you buy it?

This is a good question! The RedMajmic Auster Gaming Tablet meets a very specific audience. On the one hand, those who enjoy some heavy and competitive mobile gaming, but, for some reason, most smartphones are found to be very small in terms of display size. On the other hand, the Austra lacks dedicated hardware controls such as shoulder buttons or capacito zones so that you can get extra precision and flexibility during gaming, so this is a professional situation.

There are some strong aspects of this slate – the display is just amazing, and 165 Hz refresh rate is extremely smooth. The tap has the strength you can also use in non -gaming scenes, and the compact nature of Austra makes it a great travel friend.

But if you want to use it as non -gaming as a regular tablet, you will have to be much more than this short battery life, lack of wireless charging and a minor camera.
