If, like me, you had an Android phone in the 2010s, then you definitely played flap bird. And after all these years, I still find myself itching to play some rounds. Unfortunately, it is impossible to play the original flaping birds in 2025.
But thanks to a developer, the Flapi Bird returned. Recently, a new developer received the attention of R/Android Subsidate by announcing that he has reverse the original flaping birds to run on the 64 -bit Java platform, which means that you can download and play flap bird as you remember on the modern Android phone.
This is a beautiful cool project, and I myself was ready to download the app. However, after watching closely, I decided not to download this new version of Flaip Bird, and you probably shouldn’t.

Why should you not download this new flap bird game

There are a pair of red flags with this flap bird app, the first of which the developer did not. The Gut Hub Page includes an app file to download the game on your phone, but it has no source code available.
In other words, you are being asked to download an APK on your Android phone, without being able to see what is happening behind the screen. And this is a problem. Downloading app files is not naturally bad or harmful, but you should just do the same with reliable developers, who usually publish the AP source code so that you can confirm that there is nothing harmful in the file.
But that didn’t happen here. Not only did the developer publish his source code, but this flapp bird project is the first thing he has ever published in the Gut Hub, which means he has no previous weightable project.
Another red flag is that many people have reported to find the Trojan file (in particular, “Triggen: Script/Walkatic.com B! ML”) in APK security scans. The developer says this “possibility” is a wrong positive and that “virus scans are clear for most consumers”, but nevertheless there is already a further concern in suspicious application. And as it was not enough, I started writing a few hours after I started writing, the entire project was pulled from the balcony, the AP file is now being hosted on a media fire. He, friends, doesn’t look good.
To recover, the one we are dealing with is:
- A developer that does not have a history of previous development.
- An APK file with no source code.
- Several reports of the Trojan file in the application.
- The project is being removed from the gut hub.
- The AP is now being divided by media fire.

There are two ways to see it. On the one hand, it is completely possible that the game of flaping birds is completely harmless. There is no harm in being a new developer, because everyone has to start from somewhere. The person behind the Flaip bird project has also stated that the source code is coming soon, and these triggers warnings can be false positives, as the developer claims.
But on the other hand, it is not difficult to look at all this thing with suspicion. Why is the source code not available? Will it really be released soon, and what will happen if those triggers are legitimate?
This flaping bird’s game may be fine, but it is also likely that it is not so – and removing the gut hub makes this possibility even stronger. Unless the source code is published, you are just downloading the APK into unnecessary risk. If it turns out that the game is legitimate, great! However, unless we definitely know, I will not download it at all on my Android phone.
