Apple is considering using AI models of Openi or Anthropic to offer a more capable version of Siri. Bloomberg Reports company has promised that it can offer a new version of its voice assistant that understands personal contexts and operates within apps from last year, but officially delays the latest in the latest Siri in March 2025.
As part of this proposed new project, Apple has asked Anthropic and Openi to train versions of its models that can run on Apple’s private cloud computer, Apple chips operated on safe servers. The company already relies on its servers for certain features that cannot be operated locally.
Apple uses an Openi chatte for parts of Apple Intelligence, but it would be a major leave to rely on the third -party company for Siri. “The company currently adopts most of its AI’s features with homegron technology they call the Apple Foundation models,” Bloomberg He writes, “And was planning a new version of his voice assistant that operates on this technology by 2026.” One of the few AI announcements made by Apple in the WWDC 2025 was to make the Foundation Model available to third party developers.
Even considering using third -party AI models reflects internal changes in Apple. The company’s AI teams have allegedly changed Apple’s machine learning and senior vice president of AI strategy John Gynendra, senior vice president of software engineering, Craig Federgie. Separately, Bloomberg According to reports, Apple’s Siri team is now leading Mike Rock Well, who has recently monitored the development of Apple Vision Pro.
As if Bloomberg Note, an anthropic or open AI -powered Siri will actually film the current Samsung’s approach to AI. The Galaxy AI relies on some customs Samsung software, but mainly uses Google’s gym. The use of third -party models will not stop Apple from going back home in the future. The company made a similar transfer – though probably very quickly – when it went from a map app that relied on Google Maps, on its Customs Apple Maps service in 2012.
Wherever Apple’s lands, the latest version of Siri, is no longer expected to launch by 2026. The company will send a minor set of iDent features this autumn with the launch of iOS 26, iPados 26 and McCons 26.
