Apple is allegedly ready to update its two smart watchs: high -end Apple Watch Ultra and more affordable SE model. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gorman, it is expected that both products will be launched later this year, which will bring some of the most important changes to the lineup.
The most important update is coming in Apple Watch Ultra 3. Gorman first reported last year that the model could introduce satellite messaging, which could allow users to send short messages even when they do not have access to cellular or Wi -Fi networks. If this feature reaches as expected, it will indicate an important step toward making ultra -free device – especially for hiking, players, or someone who spends time from the grid.
So far, Apple Watch Ultra has seen only small changes since launching in 2022. A new chip was added in 2023, and the Black Titanium option was available last year. A major feature like satellite connectivity will help justify upgrades for existing ultra -owners and give Apple something new to highlight its fola lineup.
At the same time, Apple is planning to refresh Apple Watch SE. It is the company’s entry level model, which aims to make people want smart watch but do not need all the modern features found in ultra or series models. The current SE has not been updated since 2022, so a refresh is obligatory. Although the details are still limited, we can see improvements like high -speed chip, improved battery life, or small design opportunities.

These updates come at a time when Apple’s wearing business is showing signs of slowdown. Income, home, and accessories division, the last fiscal year, declined by 7 %. Only Apple Watch fell more than 14 % and may decrease again this year.
If satellite messaging arrives, Apple will be among the first people to present such a feature at the users’ grade smart watch. Although the Garaman offers emergency satellite capabilities in some of its outer -focused clothing equipment, this feature is not widely in mainstream smart watches. This can give Apple a competitive edge, especially in adventure and fitness enthusiasts who value reliable off -grid communication.
It is encouraging to see that Apple is paying more attention to its smart watch lineup, especially after a few years of changes. A more capable ultra model with satellite contacts can open new issues, and a refreshing SE can attract smart watch buyers for the first time.
If it is well hanged, these updates can help Apple regain some of the lost speed in wearing space. Nevertheless, the real test will be whether these new features translate the value of the real world for everyday users-and whether Apple can balance innovation with such reliability and polish that its users expect.
