Google is working on a new feature for Android that looks like Apple contact posters in iOS 17. The Google Contacts app’s recent AP’s tear down has shown the code, suggesting a feature called “Calling Cards”. Still during the development, this calling card is designed to customize how you show you when calling someone.

The Crees were first shared by the Android Authority. In version 4.55 of the Google Contacts app, new strings were found in which a photo is mentioned as both contact photos and calling cards. There is nothing more, but it indicates the feature that connects the profile image to a more personalized call screen.

What is more interesting is that other parts of the code indicate to support full screen images and custom fonts. These features are similar to Apple’s contact posters, which allow iPhone users to personalize how their name and picture appear on someone else’s screen during the call. The Apple feature is also connected to the namedroop, which is just a way to share the contact information while keeping the phone simultaneously.

In the case of Google, additional references to Google Play Services are mentioned in the cloud synchronization of the cloud, and managing them on the equipment. This may mean that users may be able to set the card once and use it in various Android devices.

If this feature is officially made, it can bring more modern and visual experience in the Android call interface. Many users already have profile photos associated with their Google accounts, so adding this image to calls can be an easy way to bring some personality to a screen that has changed mostly.

Nevertheless, expectations must be maintained. The features of the APP’s tears can be shown in progress, but they do not confirm whether these features will be released or not. Google has not yet announced or confirmed anything about the calling card.

He said, adding a calling card to Android will have any meaning. It will offer a small but notable improvement on how the calls look and feel, especially for those who want to show a bit of their identity. And iOS will not be surprised if Google followed it with some similar offerings. But for now, we have to wait and see what this feature actually changes.
