Microsoft’s next generation Maya AI chip is facing a minimum of six months delay, and its mass production has been spreading from 2025 to 2026, reporting Friday, citing three persons involved in the effort.
The report states that when the chip, Brega, called Code, goes into production, it is expected that it will be much less than the NVIDIA’s Blackwell chip performance released by the end of last year.
The report states that Microsoft hoped to use Brega Chip in its data centers this year, the report states that its design, staff barriers and unexpected changes in high business are contributing to delays.
Microsoft did not immediately respond to Writers’ request for comment.
Like its big -tech colleagues, Microsoft has focused greatly on the development of customs processors for artificial intelligence operations and general purpose applications, a move that will help reduce the reliance on Tech Dev’s valuable NVIDIA chips.
Cloud rivals Amazon and Alfbit’s Google have run to prepare chips at home, which is customized for their specific needs with the goal of improving efficiency and reducing costs.
Microsoft introduced Maya Chip in November 2023, but has pursued his colleagues to extend the scale.
Meanwhile, Google has seen success with its Customs AI chips – called the tanker processing unit – and its seventh -generation AI chip, developed to accelerate the performance of AI applications, was unveiled in April.
In December, Amazon also unveiled its next generation of AI Chip Trainium 3, which will be released later this year.
