    • Google has recently informed users that, starting July 7, 2025, will be able to help with apps such as Gemini phones, messages and WhatsApp, regardless of whether the gymnasium apps activity is on or off.
    • The vague words in the email have raised concerns about privacy, it is not clear with consumers whether Gemini will even access these apps even after the election.
    • Although the email states that the user can disable these features into the “app settings”, it does not offer specific steps to do so.
    • Google has now made it clear what change really means and how it will not affect the privacy of users who do not want their gymnastics chats to be reviewed or used for AI training.

Updated: June 26, 2025 (11:04 pm et): Google has responded to an email inquiry Android Authority To clarify what the changes in Gemini on Android devices on July 7 are meant. You can read the full statement of Google below:

This update is good for users: Now they can use Gemini to complete daily tasks on their mobile devices, such as sending messages, start phone calls, and set timers while Gemini apps activity has been turned off. Gemini apps are not being reviewed after the activity of apps is stopped or not being used to improve our AI model. As always, the user can stop at any time with Gemini apps at https://geemini.google.com/apps.

This means that Gemini will work more like a local assistant on your Android device and can still help with basic tasks even if you have disabled the Gemini app activity. When the Gemini app activity is turned off, you can do something here or by navigating on Android from your Gemini app settings, your chats with AI assistant will remain private and will not be used for AI training. You also have the option to disconnect access to Gemini apps from the aforementioned link shared by Google.

Although the words of the email seem at first, there is no major reason to worry. Gemini can access messages, WhatsApp, and system settings, but your privacy remains safe until the functioning of Gemini apps is stopped.

Original article: June 26, 2025 (1:33 AM et): Google’s Gemini team is apparently sending email about the upcoming change on how Gemini discusses with apps on Android devices. Email informs users that, Come on, July 7, 2025, Gemini will be able to help you use phone, messages, WhatsApp and utility on your phone, whether your gymnasium apps activity continues or closed. “ Naturally, it has raised some confidentiality concerns in people who have received email and use AI assistant on their Android devices.

The statement not only has the confusion that will have access to the apps and services asked to Gemini, even if consumers have chosen the activity of the gymnasium apps, but the email further notes that those who do not want these features can disable them, no explanation can be explained.

Google has been written in Google’s ambiguous guidance to choose this change, “If you don’t want to use these features, you can close them into the apps settings page.” There is no details about where to find the option or what is being disabled at all, especially since the email states that these changes will apply to whether the gym apps activity is underway or off.

The link in the email allegedly redirects users to the gymnasium apps privacy hub, which, unfortunately, does not offer much explanation on what is changing. Practically “What do you mean to help you use?” Will the gymnasium be able to read or send messages, access call logs, or to have third -party apps like WhatsApp as default, even when users have chosen these integration?

With less than two weeks rollout, we have reached Google for answers. The email was highlighted by the Tupper CID as well as other users. I use Gemini on my Android devices, but I have not received an email.
