Google has made it clear what Jamni’s update for Android devices means update on July 7 and will affect Android users. The company responded to an email inquiry Android AuthorityConfirming that Gemini will soon be able to help with daily tasks such as sending messages, making phone calls, and setting timers, even if the activity of the gym apps is stopped.
Google initially gave rise to the confusion after sending an ambiguous email to users, which says Gemini will soon be “helping to use phone, messages, WhatsApp and utility on your phone, whether your gymnasium apps are ongoing or closed.” The point to understand is, lack of details has raised concerns. Will AI access to private data or system functions despite activity tracking? What Google told us is this:
This update is good for users: Now they can use Gemini to complete daily tasks on their mobile devices, such as sending messages, start phone calls, and set timers while Gemini apps activity has been turned off. Gemini apps are not being reviewed after the activity of apps is stopped or not being used to improve our AI model. As always, the user can stop at any time with Gemini apps at https://geemini.google.com/apps.
This means that starting July 7, Gemini will act as a personal assistant, even the app activity option will be disabled. Currently, if your Gemini app activity is turned off, attached apps, such as phones, WhatsApp, messages, and others, are also inactive. With the upcoming change, you can turn off the Gemini app activity and still use AI to communicate with your phone, messages and WhatsApp, without your conversation to log in or improve the AI model.
This is a relief, but if you still want strict control over your data, here you can make the use of your gym here more secure.
