Bharat Sancher Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a new service that enables the doorstep of the SIM card. The official telecom operator has launched a new online portal that allows users to deliver SIM cards to their home without leaving the premises. Users can choose between prepaid and postpaid SIM connection options. Before the SIM card delivery is completed, they will need to verify the Selfie YC (your user knows).
BSNL SIM Card Home Delivery Services
BSNL’s new portal can be accessed here. When buying a SIM card, users can get new contact with the new number. As an alternative, the telecom operator also allows them to portray their existing numbers from other service providers to the BSNL.
Users need to fill the customer registration form for KYC where it offers a choice between postpaid or prepaid SIM card. BSNL SIM Card Home Delivery Service When the portal seeks the following information:
- PIN code
- Name of the applicant
- Alternate mobile number
Once the information is entered, an OTP is sent to the alternative mobile phone number for verification. The telecom operator says users can contact the helpline number 1800-180-1503 for any doubts or questions.
With this move, BSNL has joined private players like Airtel, Reliance Geo, and Vodafone Idea (VI) in the Indian Telecom sector to offer SIM card home supply. However, it is unknown if the home delivery service is free or any compensation. All three private telecom operators offer this service free.
The SIM card home delivery service comes at a time when BSNL is losing its customers. According to the latest telecom subscription data issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRII), it lost 0.2 million total users and 1.8 million active users in April.
The lowest VLR (Visitor Location Register) ratio for BSNL, an important indicator of the active use of the mobile network, was recorded at 61.4 %.
